This 3-octave harp has a lovely tone. The height is such that you can put it on a footstool when you are seated, or sit on a low stool and let it rest on the floor. Of course, it is the right height for an adult or tall child to hold in the lap while playing. The Chelby levers are easy to use and marked (red = C, blue = F) in the same way as the strings. It came with loosened strings to prevent mishaps en route, but after I let it sit opened in my house a few hours to acclimate, I tuned the entire harp up a half step at a time with small rests in between, and I had no problems. I suggest you tune all the C’s and all the F’s first, then the non-marked strings. It will probably need frequent tuning over the next month until the nylon strings have finished stretching. The Celtic knot decorations are lovely, and the gig bag which came bundled with my purchase is a nice sturdy case with carry handles, although it is not heavily padded, so I may wrap a thin blanket around it if I am going far with it. You might want to keep the packaging in case you want to ship the harp or move it; it came very protectively boxed. Extra strings came with this harp, as well as the tuning key and the string-changing wrench. The touch of this harp is light and easy, and the tone is consistent, with a good dynamic range. The spacing of the strings is even and seems to be the standard spacing for small harps. This is a good travel harp and a good beginner’s harp suitable for taller students such as pre-teen through adult. The same company makes one-octave and two-octave small harps for the younger students.
