This register is perfect for small businesses that are still old school easy to program easy to use, the only drawback is finding register paper the phone number to use to order the paper are out of it and said to call back in 3 weeks, doesn’t do you much good when it only comes with one roll of paper. So went on Amazon to order it not easy hopefully I found one hope it works.

This product doesn’t hold the programing when you put it in. By this, I mean when you program sales tax and prices, it will not hold it. Useless item to me. I also bought the cash drawer to go with it, and that makes that useless. By the time I started to use it, my time window to return it had passed, so I have lost money on this product.

I purchased this because 1.) I got tired of using a calculator, math is not my strong suit. 2) Not all of the events I do have easy or any access to electricity.
Like other reviews mentioned, there was no sample register tape or spool. I just went and bought a roll of tape, since I am not worried about a journal I can live without the spool. I did have difficulty entering the tax rate, so I called Royal and the first guy I talked to had me taken care of in a matter of minutes. Part of my difficulty was I was taking into consideration the decimal point when I should not have. The tech I talked to even had me try it out to make sure it calculated correctly before ending the call.
I did find other registers that would run on batteries, but they were all like $300 of more, for less than $100 I got this and the cash drawer. So far I am happy with it.

Product is very light weight and easily able to be transported easily, everything was super easy to set up, EXCEPT for the tax in my state, this however was extremely difficult, I ended up needing to call the customer service number for assistance in getting the tax set up, and the woman who assisted me had an accent that was so bad I could barely understand her and I needed her to repeat herself numerous times, and she seemed eagar to get me off the phone before the issue was even resolved, better customer service reps would be beneficial.

I like the little register, it was fairly easy to program though I never figured out how to exempt tax. It works for my purposes.

I havent used it yet, because I cannot figure out how to install the paper roll. It is not a userfriendly product. I called customer service & was told I had to buy a one ply paper roll which doesnt allow you to give a carbon copy to the customer unless you print two transactions which would use up more paper roll..nevertheless, i bought the one ply and it still doesnt go through the feeder.
