Beautiful sounding addition to a kit. Most useful as a brighter attack but is also great as a rhythm. A nice ping as well

A comparación de un Paiste este platillo tiene más brillo pero suena muy bien.

It’s very high pitched and doesn’t match as well with the rest of my B8 set, but when played in combo with any other cymbal it adds a great depth.

I just got my new Sabian Cymbal and I am very happy. The cymbal arrived before the expected date and the price was very good and the cymbal has nice looking and most importantly a good quality and good sound. If you don’t have a lot of money to invest in a single cymbal this is a good option, good price good quality.

I was looking for an 18″ left side crash that had a tweener tone between a Chinese cymbal and a regular crash. I’m not a big fan of Aero crashes (not because they sound bad, but they’re thin and have holes which tends, with my hamfisted playing style, to lead to broken cymbals) so I wanted an Aero-like tone without the holes. Enter the 18″ Sabian B8X Ballistic crash.

I noticed immediately that it is of medium weight, which I like. For a B8 bronze cymbal, there is a lot of character. There isn’t that tinny top end that we’re all used to with Sabian B8, it’s replaced by a very complex high end wash, cutting, yet very tasteful. The lows in this cymbal are what struck me. After that high end described above, there is a low-mid body that really makes this cymbal sing. I can’t wait to hear it in the studio. As a matter of fact, I’ll update this review when I have some properly mixed studio time with it.

It is a beautiful instrument. I play primarily AA, AAX, and have an HH right side crash. This cymbal gels with the other “higher end” perfectly.

Sabian might have cracked the code with this current incarnation of their B8 line. The B8X hi hats I have on my teaching kit are also very good. I’ve played the Pro, B8Pro, and B8 cymbals in the past and while they were decent cymbals, they were not remotely as musical and complex as this B8X Ballistic crash.

Try it out. I’m not a fan of crash cymbals that aren’t 17-20″, so I don’t know about the 16″, but the 18″ is legit. Seriously.

Cumple muy bien, sonido brillante y buen material. Tiene un sonido más agudo de lo normal pero después de un rato te acostumbras. Destaca muy bien en la mezcla. Lo uso para trabajar y no hay quejas de nadie en la banda.

This crash cymbal doesn’t sound too radically different from a traditional crash, but it’s well made, as is pretty much all Sabian brass, and it’s tone is a little grittier than than your basic crash cymbal, a bit dirtier and more abrasive. On top of all that jazz, the fact it only costs 75$ (back in 2018 when I bought mine lol) makes it a good deal financially if you’re looking to change/upgrade your setup on a budget.

Far as Amazon and the seller go, the packaging was satisfactory and it arrived a few days ahead of their estimated DOD. All in all, a pleasure doing bidnazz.

Hope the review is helpful. Peace
