I’m using this with a 2022 M2 MacBook Pro and a ViewSonic 4K monitor. I like to keep my laptop on a stand next to the monitor and use the monitor as primary, with laptop display as secondary. When I take the laptop away, I just unplug the cable and go; when I return, all is set up as before. I’ve been doing this with another dock at work and wanted to duplicate the setup at home, so I got this dock by Sabrent.

The good: With the appropriate adaptors, it works with my 4K monitor (HDMI) and with ethernet. My monitor has a built-in USB hub, with USB-B input and 4x USB-A ports. I normally connect the input to my dock and use one of the outputs for a wired keyboard and another for a USB-powered light. Adding a USB-C to USB-A adapter, this setup works well from one of the thunderbolt outputs on the back of this Sabrent dock. Finally, the power cords are long, so the power supply doesn’t have to sit on the desk with the dock.

The not-so-good: Because this dock is so small, it lacks features found on larger docks: audio I/O, ethernet, multiple USB outputs on the front. I end up using a lot of adapters to get everything hooked up. Also, I don’t like that the computer cable plugs into the front; that’s clutter I don’t need.

Conclusion: This is very nice and functionally it meets my needs, but isn’t ideal. It’s an elegantly small thing on the desktop until everything is plugged in, but it isn’t ideal for travel either, because the power supply would be inconveniently sized and I’d need to add several adapters to get all my connections.

This is a nice unit with solid construction. However, I am attempting to use it with the new AR glasses (Xreal) and I find that it will output video out of only one port at a time so it’s useless as a splitter for multiple glasses. Tried with Android and Steam Deck. On a positive note, it does pass along the IMU data so you can get a 3dof screen out of that one output, but it’s still only the one output.

I wanted to streamline and tidy up my desk space and have been looking at thunderbolt 4 hubs/docks for awhile. I like the idea of 1 cable do to do it all, I settled on this Sabrent one because it was one sale and had the ports and charging I needed. I have used many Sabrent products in the past (other than SSDs) and the quality is always really good and they always preform flawlessly. This TB4 hub follows along with that, it has a decent weight to it and is constructed out of aluminum, comes with a large power brick and a TB4 cable which is on the shorter side 0.5M. Currently I have this dock running a 32” Samsung odyssey at 1440p 180hz through a usb c to display port cable, a crucial x9 external drive and a usb DAC all while charging my MacBook Pro! Now 60w is on the lower side for charging but the highest I have ever seen my 16” MacBook Pro m3 pro draw is 65 watts under 100% gpu and cpu load so it should work fine for 95 percent of peoples needs. So far I am very happy and I will
Update this if anything changes. As a side note I am using the Apple 1M TB4 cable to connect this to the computer.

This Thunderbolt 4 hub feels great in the hand with an aluminum case and if you need it for on the go it is very portable, although the power supply for it is actually bigger in all dimensions than the hub (120w power supply). You have a total of 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports (1 upstream, 2 display, 1 for recievers) and 1 USB-A 3.2 port on the front so if you have another reciever or a flash drive to plug in, you’ll still be able to plug them in without using an adapter.

The upstream port only delivers 60w which can be an issue for more power hungry laptops such as the Surface Laptop Studio I have. I still will charge, but it will prompt you with a warning basically meaning, it’ll charge, but if you put your laptop under signfigant load, it will not be able to keep up with the power draw with the tasks that are running. Although isn’t capable of charging my laptop at 100w, for me this is a great hub for a 1 cable solution because it’s just so much smaller than your big 11-in-1 docks that are not only bulkier, but depending on the model at the same price, cheaper in the hand (plastic housing over aluminum).

This also comes with a thunderbolt 4 cable for your computer so you don’t have to worry about finding a cable with right specs for your laptop at the very least. As for your other connections, I’d make sure for your displays that they are at least are capable of carrying Display Port.

Also, do not forget to register your device within 90 days on their website with the card in the box (the box will have the SN) so you can get a 2 year warranty instead of 1 year warranty.

I’ll cut through the chase here. This a great TN hub, This it works as intended, and the advertised Thunderbolt functionalities work just fine. What they haven’t told you is how big the power brick is. It’s huge! It may not matter to most people, but if you’re trying to build an organized, cable managed, or wire free setup, this ain’t for you. You’d think that with a smaller dock, you’ll also get a smaller power brick, but nope. Such a let down.

First, I’ll say that I love this product for the most part. It’s powerful and takes up zero space on my desktop, while providing the ability to hook up two 4k screens AND charging my Macbook. However, in order to provide that performance, the power supply is like twice the size of the dock itself. It’s amazing how small this unit is in comparison to the power supply. Overall, they packed a lot of power into a small package.

On an emergency trip recently, I only had a short time to gather my things together. I grabbed this hub and a handful of necessary cables to keep my devices alive in the hotel, and it did the job beautifully — compact both to pack and to set up on a corner nightstand, able to keep my laptop, phone, and tablet alive without any issue. The rare times when I needed to run an HDMI cable to the television, the hub performed admirably. It charged a 16″ professional laptop without breaking a sweat during low use periods, and only struggled to keep up on highly power-intensive rendering tasks. I didn’t notice much excess heat even during that period.

While I normally prefer a larger, more powerful hub for home use, this now lives in my go bag and I’d absolutely recommend it for travel. It’d also be highly suitable day-to-day for ultrabook/Macbook Air users who need the high-speed ports and need them *now.*

Very good quality product. The only disadvantage – very bulky charger, much bigger and heavier than the device itself.
