The register itself was a beautiful piece of equipment, but unless you have someone to help you program it, especially when it comes to adding state and local tax, you are pretty much SOL. Not only that, but you cant exactly look up a company that will help you try to figure this out on the internet because unless you buy the register from someone you find on the internet, they will not help you. Now you are probably wondering, ” why not just contact the seller?” Well, you see that would be an excellent idea, if they would ever call you back or even return a phone call when promised. The one and only time I was able to actually GET someone on a phone, they told me they would talk to tech support and have them call me because they didn’t know anything about it. So I waited, an hour, a day, a week, and yet still no call. So if you decide to use this seller, which I do not recommend, I hope you have experience with this register or have an unending amount of patience and I wish you all the luck in the universe.

I have used Sam4s registers now for almost ten years, and yes, at this point i have some experience programming these. If you need full programming support then i would recommend a local POS company through which to purchase your register. If you’re comfortable figuring out stuff outside of your comfort zone then you can save some chuck of cash doing it yourself. These are much easier to to program than some older TEC or SHARP units I remember from years past. The interface is fairly easy to work with. I spent maybe a total of five hours programming and laying out the keyboard the way I wanted. Over 100 PLU’s, tax rate, employee discounts, coupons etc.
Remember. if you’re trying to save a few bucks by sourcing over the net, then plan on figuring stuff out yourself. If you’re frustrated by service from a particular seller then a two-star review is not reflective of the quality of the machine being reviewed. Also, Amazon changes sellers all the time so who exactly are you frustrated with?
