This DVD player works really well. It upverts a standard DVD to make the picture nicer. I wanted to be able to play BluRay DVDs on occasion and this does a great job. I am happy with it and recommend this player and the seller.

I made the mistake of not paying attention to the fact that this is NOT a wifi enabled blu ray player, but that’s my bad. I assumed everything is wi-fi now, and didn’t think twice about that not being the case. We can’t use the app features without wi-fi or doing some pretty serious work to our in-home network (don’t get me started on home builders) The player itself is nice, and the picture is really good. It’ll probably end up in a kids’ room at some point though since we can’t use the apps and that’s really what we bought it for. Again that’s nothing against the player itself, that is my fault. I don’t want to send it back because of that though. It’s great that it came with a HDMI cable also!

I was in search of something to play DVDs and maybe blu rays on, and I already had a Fire TV stick – no need to be internet connected or have streaming functionality. Therefore, I wanted something cheap and not fancy. This perfect for my needs.
PROS
– Small and all black, easy to fit and keep discreet in my modest entertainment space
– Plays Blu rays and DVDs – this is the most important part for me! I’ve had no issues getting it to work consistently.
– It has two buttons that you can feel on the actual device in addition to the remote – power and eject. (It is a pet peeve of mine when tech companies design “buttons” that you are supposed to touch, but you can’t feel or see them in the dark.)
CONS
– Hardline internet connection only. I don’t care about this, but others might.
– Out of date interface. Again, I don’t care about this, but others might.
– You can live stream through some apps on this, but it will definitely be less robust than something like the Fire TV, Apple TV or Roku.

Had it a couple weeks, watched several blu ray movies, and it works just as it is supposed to. Easy to hook up to the tv with the included cable. I don’t plan to hook it up to the cable internet. The remote has about 40 buttons on it, more actually, in a space about two by six inches if that, so its tight. While I don’t know how to use all of them yet, it was quick to figure out those you need to know in order to turn it on and off, run a movie in it, pause, fast forward, eject, etc. I ran a test movie on it within a couple minutes of hooking up the cable and plugging it in. This is my first blu ray player and the picture is great. It replaced a DVD player that I bought at a Blockbuster (remember those?) more than 20 years ago. I hope this unit lasts a while.

We have DVDs (gifts) our old Apex cannot read. This blu-ray can read them. Picture quality is very good.
The included HDMI cable is I think Vivitar, six feet long with gold contacts. That plus the capabilities of the set justify the cost. I whined about price because I needed to pay shipping, tax, conversion, and conversion fee. If I bought in Canada the shipping would already have occurred in bulk and I don’t need to convert currency. It seemed like the best value on the Amazon website and I needed to buy something there. This fit the bill perfectly.
The website made it easy to find the product. The shipping delay was less than the upper range promised. I think that’s 100 percent perfect delivery.

Me and my wife have ordered quite a few blue ray players off of AMAZON and have never had a bad experience but after buying this item were shocked about the false advertisement. This item is not “wireless” it has to be hard wired told to us by their customer service department. If you don’t have after market wireless Ethernet adapters this wont work. We thought off the batt that the Ethernet connection was an added plus not for the “wireless” connection so beware if you want total wireless! We are keeping this item only because the quality is good once hard wired! “The seller told us that this item hard wired is considered by them totally wireless” so what does that say to you if it need’s a wire to work?? LOL By the way I’m a techy so if this could be wireless I know how to hook up any type of electronics without a manual. When doing a search for total wireless blue ray players serch 100% wireless to get the items you’d be more interested in to purchase!
