I just want to share my experience regarding this SSD.
First of all, I received the delivery of this item 1 day early. This allowed me install the drive earlier than I expected.
The install of this drive was much easier than I had expected. As soon as I removed the 3 screws holding the bracket to the memories, I then pulled the tab of the hard drive. After removing the 4 screws that hold the plate of the drive and transferring it to the SSD, I re-installed it back to the slot without any problems.
I then re-installed the L bracket and re-installed the battery back.
Now time to boot up. After turning the MacBook on, I quickly inserted the bootable DVD in the slot and it booted up immediately.
I selected the Disk Utility to format the SSD. After formatting, I then proceeded to follow the step by step procedure of restoring the software to the new drive using the Time Machine.
This all took less than 2 hours and once complete, I had a completely functional laptop working just like the other drive except a lot faster.
I am so pleased with everything that I would do this again. I might even buy myself an old MacBook and install an SSD on it.

Night and day difference!
Used to take me 5min to open Microsoft word now it takes about 4 seconds
Start up in 1min vs 14min w old standard hd
Shut down 30 seconds vs 5min w old standard hd
It’s not SATA III capable computer but it sure works great!

My old laptop was getting long in the tooth. Every operation took forever it seemed. So I browsed around for performance boosts, and saw SSDs recommended. I figured it was worth a shot.
WOW! Was it ever!
The computer runs like a new beast altogether. Much faster! Also, the battery now has less drain on it, so it last longer.
Highly recommended!!

These drives are great! I have two of these in a RAID 0 connected to the on-board controller on my motherboard (SABERTOOTH 990FX) and they are rating 8.3 on the Windows 8 Experience Index. I might buy two more and do a RAID 5 at some point.

Pro: Has been working reliably for a year.
Cons: It is quite a bit slower than the 240GB versions.
Thoughts: Buy larger capacitance model for more speed.

Installed this on an older laptop which does not have a SATA 3 interface, so I can’t get the most out of the drive. But it is still much faster than the normal SATA drive that came with the laptop, and it made it much more responsive. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.

I have had 3 of these for a year now & am buying more. They are fast, run cool, and easily swapped out For various tasks. I have a back up ready to swap in (I made an identical copy of my hard drive when I received it so I can always start fresh) in case of disaster, and I am adding one for back up storage that will not always be connected. This hard drive is small enough to have a back up of my files in the safety deposit box in case of robbery, fire, etc..
I also have a separate drive with a Linux OS (Ubuntu is great for the non-geek) for internet use, so that my working drives are not exposed to internet attacks. I swap hard drives through an ICY Dock mobile rack that is installed, so that I know that my internet HD stays isolated. It is very easy to use. I also have a little external dock to use for my file storage back up HD.
