I’ve had an itchy scalp so was looking for something that might help ease the itch but this seemed to exacerbate it (it’s possible this was due to stress, too, but it did seem to ease when I stopped using it). At first, it was cooling but then it became less effective.

Although this bottle is just 1 ounce, a little goes a long way. I do have dry scalp in the winter and adding this to my other DevaCurl products is proving to be beneficial. I typically have little white flakes fall from my scalp and land on my clothing and I just dust it off. But this product is helping with that. I can wear my hair straight or curly, but I have only tried this when styling my hair curly. I imagine it would be great for when I also blow it out, as that requires more heat, closer to my scalp.
I do love DevaCurl products and this doesn’t disappoint.

This bottle is small – 2 1/2″ tall (not counting the cap) and 7/8″ wide at the base.
The serum comes in a pump bottle. It has a scent flowery scent. The scent lingered for a long time. Scents keep me awake at night. I would have preferred that it was unscented.
I damaged my scalp by coloring my hair too often. I use this serum when I do not wash my hair; it helps my scalp heal and get nourished. I see fewer broken hairs in the shower drain.

I didn’t get that immediate feeling of moisture or softness when applying this to my scalp. A little goes a long way and the smell is amazing. I applied it to my scalp in areas where there is inflamation and itching (CCCA Alopecia) and it seemed to respond well to it. I’m not sure how many applications would be needed but I’ll use it along with other stuff. It was definitely calming to my scalp though and it felt a little more cool after applying this. I’ll see if this is something that I need to add to my ongoing regimen over time.

Save your money and months of wondering why your scalp is raw and your hair is thinning. DEVACURL IS THE PROBLEM.
Even when you quit using this poison(yes, the “new formulas”), your hair and scalp will go thru what looks like a withdrawal of something. My hair deflated to super fine from thick, texture turned to straight hairs and super kinked up pube-like strands.
When you decide to quit, your scalp will take a while to not hurt or itch. Stick it out. The answer is most certainly not more Devacurl.

This serum isn’t just for those who wear extensions or other protective styles—it also works for people with dry skin in general, and for me, that includes my often itchy scalp. This adds needed moisture, and produces a soothing feel and attractive look. Only a bit is needed per application, and the scent alone is worth using. I like that it is non-oily, yet effectively controls dry scalp problems.

my hair is wavy/curly and its usually a frizzy mess unless i use an oil to keep it tame, thats where this comes in. it works very nicely to keep my hair smooth and in line and it also smells good. i will say the bottle is very small but you dont need much to be effective. it also works well for dry itchy scalp which is great for the winter months.

I haven’t had the best of luck with the DevaCurl line in general, unfortunately, so my expectations were pretty low for this scalp treatment off the top. I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised! This product was actually pretty great for me.
I have naturally wavy hair and struggle with itchy scalp a lot, especially in the wintertime when it’s also dry. I’m no stranger to scalp treatments. Generally, I find they leave my hair feeling greasy, even if they do help the itchiness. That’s why I was thrilled to find that this product soaked in quickly and really didn’t leave any visible remnants behind. It soothed my scalp right away and kept the itchies at bay all day. Since I’m not scratching my head a lot, I found it helps with dandruff too.
Of all the DevaCurl products I’ve tried, this one is definitely my favorite. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Highly recommend.
