Very good quality, cooks well, easy to clean, heavy duty, very happy with these pans!

Replacing our worn out Classic with MANY years of service on it (had finally started to stick when cooking fish, etc.) I was happy to see this model was still available. Surprised when I opened it up to see that the “plaid/checkerboard” pattern on the cooking surface was no longer there. Took just the first salmon filet to realize the current non-stick coating is GREAT. As fans of the Classic have experienced, it distributes heat evenly, doesn’t stick (unless you insist on using it for 20 years!) and is SO easy to clean. The plastic handle is easy to grip and feels very secure, the cooking surface for a 10″ pan is spacious, and the pan always feels balanced and easy to handle. Brings a smile to my face when I cook with it.

This is the best little skillet for omelettes and small sauté. They may last much longer than the 20+ years we have had them (bought at Sur lá táble that was in Seattle Public market years ago), they came highly recommended. I believe you can get more use out of them if you never use spray oil and do not wash in the dishwasher (dishwasher detergent for the long period in dishwasher is hard on non stick pans and knives).
We have a pair of them and use almost daily on gas cooktop.

I overheard two women raving about Scanpan cookware in a store so decided to check it out on-line. Found Amazon had the best prices and you just can’t beat their free shipping deal. What I really wanted was a couple of skillets that were teflon free but non-stick and Scanpan seemed like the answer. Bought both the 14 inch for large meals and the 8 inch for daily use like frying eggs. These pans are pricey but they are very well made and a pleasure to cook with. Also, they are manufactured somewhere in Scandinavia (hence the name) for those who prefer to avoid Chinese cookware. The 14 inch skillet is HUGE and is great for frying beacon or making pancakes. It can cook 6 average size (about 5 inch diameter) pancakes at a time. The smaller skillet will fry 4 eggs if you don’t mind the whites touching. Both pans heat very evenly but be aware that because they are so well made it takes them a little longer to come up to temperature than most cookware you may have used. The ceramic titanium finish is supposed to be hard enough to stand up to metal utensil use but I can’t confirm that as I usually cook with wooden utensils. I am very pleased with the non-stick finish and clean-up but have to admit I always put a small amount of butter in the pans unless cooking something that contains fat.
Follow-up 3/15: Both skillets look almost new after nearly three years of use. Hardly a day has gone by when one of them has not been used. Oddly enough I use the the large skillet more than the smaller even though I am usually cooking for one or two. In fact, I got tired of putting it back in the pantry after each use, so I just leave it on the stove. If you haven’t guessed I am still a big Scanpan fan.

I’m a big fan of Scanpan! My first set lasted 25 years and every part held together very well. Now with an excellent non-stick surface, and metal rimmed glass covers, I’m real pleased with my purchase. They clean simply, heat very efficiently and cook food perfectly. Other reviews may say they take a while to heat up, it’s not long, and should take some time as any great pan would. I love all of the design including the handles and cover knobs. These pans are so worth it, and if you’re uncertain if you should buy the 8 piece or 11 piece, go 11, you won’t be unhappy. It has three sauce pans, 1, 2 and 3 quart with individual lids giving a lot of flexibility, and the large sauce pan is perfect for boiling a few potatoes or steaming vegetables and not have to use the big Dutch oven. Very pleased!

Just love ScanPan! They are the best pots, frying pan, crepe pan, Roasting pan, Wok we have ever had. Rarely if ever have to go over medium heat. Clean up is a breeze! Cost some but worth every nickel!

È la migliore, da anni uso solo scanpan. Consiglio a tutti

I received my order very fast. Loving the quality but unfortunately the 26cm pan arrived dent. I can still use it but it is very disappointing to receive a damaged item for this price.

Yes, this is truly non stick. No oil needed for eggs (although I do use a bit). Performs fantastically.
BUT – let’s see over time how does the non stick hold.
I do own Scanpan 32cm CTX which lost most of its non stick coating, but is still OK. The scanpan 1.8l CTX saucepan is catastrophic – the eggs literally burn into them, I’ve never seen such a bad performance.
So for now 5/5, but the ultimate test of non sticks is time – so far all my Scanpans have disappointed after 2years.

I’ve had this cookware for a few months now and I like them. I switched from Analon to stainless steel and just couldn’t get used to the heavy, stainless steel. My impressions of Scanpan:
1) They feel a heavier quality than Analon (I had 2 sets of Analon in the past 19 years and was very happy with each of them. Eventually the nonstick surface chips as they all do, and this was an anniversary present).
2) I prefer a non-stick surface for 99% of my cooking. I have no problem browning meats, though I do not typically put these into the oven, though I believe they are heat safe up to 450 degrees. I use my outdoor grill if I want to sear anything or my broiler pan in the oven.
3) The handles stay cool to touch while on the gas range. This is important now that my kids are cooking–mac and cheese should require a muscle man to lift the pan or a trip to the ER for 3rd degrees burns.
4) I like the glass lids so there is no boil over. I also like the button style knobs vs. a D shaped handle so I can flip the lids and store them with the related pot.
5) I’ve never had saucepans with pour spouts–very handy. This can be a bummer for steaming though. I wish there was a 2 qt straight walled pot in clouded in this set, The 3 qt covered saucepan is almost too big. I kept my 1 qt covered saucepan from the analog set, and this seems to fill in some gaps.
My verdict so far is that the pans perform extremely well, and clean up like a breeze. I do not put my cookware in the dishwasher. I would certainly recommend this brand to anyone who prefers to cook with non-stick cookware. I’d also recommend this as a great beginner set. I would fill in with a wok pan, a large stock pot, a few straight walled saucepans, and a metal steamer insert. As a FYI, this set is NOT compatible with induction cooking but scan an does make a separate line for that.
