3. VERSATILITY: For the record, the device has program keys for accountants: COST, SELL, and MARGIN. For all other users, there is an abundance of function keys: GRAD TOTAL, DOUBLE ZEROS, BACKSPACE, and PERCENTAGE.

USEFUL: Little things make life easier for the operator: automatic power down, two power sources for uninterrupted operation – solar powered and emergency watch battery cell, and mathematical sign changes. The display screen is big – 40+ users are able to see without squinting. Long numbers are broken up with commas after every three numerals.

I ordered this calculator to replace my old one (about 20 years old) and it does all I need. It’s only a bit larger than my old one, but the buttons are larger, so easier for my older fingers to use. I would reorder.

I have owned a couple of Elsimate 224’s for maybe 20 – 25 years now and both were on their original batteries, consistently recharged by the solar function. Eventually one showed it’s age and I decided to replace both with the newer 334W’s. Then I discovered, because I had completely mislaid the original instructions, that a change of battery will revive the older calculators. Voila! They live again – so now I have two of the older Elsimates to pass onto family members or friends. Make others believers in this powerful little and handy device..

I have used my Sharp Elsi-Mate EL-337M for the past 24 years and unfortunately the screen started malfunctioning. In the Share Elsi-Mate EL-334W I have found it’s equivalent. It has pretty much the same layout so my neural pathways don’t have to re-adjust (major bonus). The calculator is practical and functional. It has a lovely “feel” to it, so data entry is very comfortable and effortless.
