I use mine on a used Mackie Mixer – Works super! I got the Gator flexible stand for mine that clips on a desk.

This microphone is a great budget-friendly option when compared to some of Shures other microphones.
I’ve paired mine with a low desk mounted microphone arm and a GOXLR Mini.
This is perfect for discord etc or even streaming if that’s your jam. Audio quality is brilliant, build quality feels superb and the microphone itself looks great. Audio clarity seems to be pristine.
I have previously bought two blue yeti mircophones over the years and I honestly wish I had just purchased this one instead.
Just remember this is an XLR microphone and will require an audio interface like the GOXLR Mini to function.

This is my first XLR and I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I see a lot of reviews saying it’s too quiet, and I’m not sure what they’re doing wrong. I haven’t had this issue at all, and I’m definitely a novice regarding this stuff. You do need to buy a cable and an audio interface so that does add up… I went cheap on the interface for now, and it still works great. This is the XLR version only, so there is no USB option or controls on the mic itself, but this is a good way to jump into trying a trusted brand XLR on a moderate budget.

It delivers clear, professional-grade sound that’s perfect for podcasting, streaming, or voiceovers. The build is sturdy, and you can feel the durability in the design—this mic is made to last. Shure has always been a trusted name in audio equipment, and the MV7X is no exception. It’s easy to use, delivers rich, crisp sound, and is a great option if you’re serious about your audio quality. Definitely worth the investment!

Very good microphone, it is perfect if you’d like to do podcast, stream, or just record a video. Quality is great, and normally I use it with a small mixer that provides 48V Phantom
I use it as well for work, when recording video guides or just meetings, and the audio quality is awesome.

Been trying to find the correct choice between this and the Blue Sona Logitech. I originally went with the Blue sona because it looked cool and there were claims it had better sound rejection then the SM7b….
Welp I can say in fact it doesnt. because recording on a one to one comparative track and it had little to the same sound rejection as my AT2020!!! So i couldnt rightfully keep it at its price tag of 300 dollars!!!
I finally decided to give the mv7x a try. At its price tag if it was only a little better then the AT2020 it would be justified….
Welp it I can say out of the two (blue sona vs the MV7X) it has amazing noise rejection!!! I have like five fans going all at once in my bed room and I can barely hear them in it! this was exactly what I needed for good tone and good noise rejection!!!
I am very very very happy with this mic!!!
Edit: I returned it for the mv7+. Why? The mv7x still sounded great but I made the decision to do a duel pc set up and the really cool thing about the mv7+ is you can output through xlr and usb at the same time.
I still highly recommend the MV7x its a steal at its price. But if you think you might want to do a dual PC setup for streaming the MV7x is perfect for dual output.

I’ve used a bunch of different mics from Hypercast to Blue Yeti to Audio Technica. Honestly, they’ve all been great but they were all condenser so external noise was always present when party chatting. When I needed a new mic I decide on this dynamic Shure mic. They’re pretty much the most popular mics right? And for good reason. I’m no pro so didn’t go all out with the SM7B and this seemed liked a good middle ground and it’s been great.
Great construction quality and simple design with a nice weight to it. It’s not so sensitive that it captures background noise loudly and having the mic up close captures your voice perfectly. Nice and crisp with good clarity that just has a different sound to other mics.
I’ve been using it on my PS5 connected via Elgato Wave XLR and works without issues. Also have it connected to my PC via Minifuse 2 audio interface with cloudlifter and no issues there either. Definitely recommended if you want want a high quality mic without breaking the bank too much.
