Purchased this to read to my classrooms and help teach the students about germs. They love learning about how gross Simon is. We also did an experiment with this book to help them visualize germs.

I love this book! It perfectly illustrates how germs are spread and how to prevent spreading them. My kids had me read it multiple times to them and I will be reading it every fall as a reminder to wash your hands and cover your coughs and sneezes.

I love this book!! It teaches chdren to importance of self care when you are ill. If you add a visual..spray your child/class with a spray bottle and they can see/feel what happens when you dont cover your mouth when you sneeze!

So I work at a daycare and as you know, kids are germ factories. Despite trying my best, I was getting sick a lot, so I got some books to help teach the kids about germs. While this book is somewhat gross, I think it’s helpful. It also explains what germs are and why it’s important not to spread them. The book shows Simon, while sick, going about his daily life and how it affects his classmates. Then, it shows him trying to combat the germs by washing his hands, drinking water, and resting. Even the younger toddlers like this book.

I love this book so much i got it for my 3 and 1 year old. They understand it so well and want it read nightly. It is very easy for them to understand. So well that my 3 yo keeps telling anyone she sees that coughs without covering their mouth, “cover your mouth you’re going to get me sick!” Now they cover their mouth, wash their hands, and use tissues, and take their naps to make the germs go away 😉
