This thing is sturdy and expandable so you can use it in different situations. I love the handle and the wheels, which make it much easier for one person jobs. The caveat is that one of the straps will rub against stairs if you are a single person using the handle to bring the case up or down stairs. Another thing to consider is that this probably can’t be handled by a single person if it’s full of just cymbal stands. I fill up half of it with stands and the other half with my throne and pedals and that is just right for one person to lift in and out of a vehicle.

Seriously, forget any notions of going with a cheaper bag or case, and just get this. After going with a bargain hardware bag for a year, and watching it slowly fall to pieces (killing my back in the process) I finally bit the bullet and spent a little extra on a brand I trust. And I gotta tell you, I’m mad I didn’t do it sooner. This case fits all of my hardware (I play a four piece with three cymbals + hats) with no problem. The construction is sturdy and so far the wheels can really take a licking. Through a month of heavy-duty touring this thing was as reliable as it was durable. The size was big enough to comfortably fit in a touring van without taking up too much space, but is also big enough that you don’t have to take apart all your hardware to make it fit.

If I had any gripes, it’s that you still do need to collapse all your stands to make them fit in the case, and that my throne seat doesn’t fit. But otherwise, I swear by this case and will never use anything but SKB from now on.

It holds all the drum hardware for a very large drum set quite easily:five cymbal stands, large stool, hi-hat, Tom holders, floor tom legs, stick bag, foot pedal, and more. AND it easily fits in the trunk of a Honda Civic! The handle is adjustable which makes it easier for pulling, depending on the weight you’re carrying. The wheels are high-grade rollerblade wheels that roll smoothly. Amazingly, the case, strap, and wheels are all guaranteed for life. I called them about a worn-out wheel and they sent me new ones within the week, no cost. They stand by their product. This case is the absolute best. Great price for a fantastic case!

This case is incredibly durable and relatively lightweight for what it does. I’ve been using SKB cases (primarily 19″ racks) since the ’90’s, and I’ve never regretted that decision. I’ve purchased several other case brands too, and they tend to be more hit or miss.

I have had good and bad experiences with SKB. This case however is fantastic!! My hardware is a mix of single and double bracing. I have three cymbal stands and a double tom stand, several attachments for specialty cymbals, a folding bench seat and a snare stand that doesn’t break down all the way at the try pod. It’s fixed in place. Its around a 100lbs worth of hardware and it all fits nice and neat. The duel handles make it easy to lug around. The retractable handle and the wheels make this thing a dream. I was using a bag for a long time and this is a huge step forward in my loading and unloading of gear.

El estuche es pesado (9kgs vacío) y con todos los soportes adentro se transforma en muy pesado – desde el punto de vista de durabilidad, no sé la durabilidad de las ruedas, pero todo el interior y exterior es a prueba de cualquier golpe – lo he usado ya un par de veces y es muy cómodo y espacioso para todo lo que necesita un baterista.

These cases are the dogs. I have three now, easy to move one you have loaded them and they can take the rough and tumble of touring. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
