I’ve had many flight cases over the years and had this recommended to me by someone I deeply respect. It is truly the best case out there. It is incredibly well built, air tight, light and tough as nails. I love the wheels and the locking handles as well as the TSA latches. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into the design and I just wanted to clear the air on a youtube review regarding the headstock touching the foam and the neck not sitting perfectly. Those imperfections have been fixed so not to worry! The case is truly flawless.

Not the best. Not the worst.
It’s overpriced for its quality, but it’ll be serviceable enough.
It ISN’T really waterproof. Yes. There’s a seal in the front, but on the sides, it DOESN’T close flush. The external plastic is also marred with scratches or small pock marks from the plastic making.
SKB lesser cases are poorly finished. This one is a bit better. IF you want a road worthy, truly waterproof case, you’ll have to unfortunately spend more money and get something other than the SKB brand.

The case pictured was not the case I received. I’m sick and tired of ordering things and ending up with something else.
I just don’t care anymore –
I am very happy with this case. It’s better than my old school ATA Road Cases that I carry around other guitars in by a long shot. It’s lighter than they are and the fact that it is air/water tight makes it ideal for travel through different temperatures. I don’t have to worry about opening this case and seeing my Guitar covered in a white, wet film or worse; opening it up to discover the neck is twisted. I will be getting this style case for my other LPs and my SG. I just wish it was available for Explorers and Flying Vs too.

Have had this case for about a month now and flown 6 tines with it – it seems indestructible and I do believ the airlines have tried lol

I haven’t had the product long enough do a review. My initial impressions are positive. The case appears to fit my Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Plus well. It does have the 60’s slim neck; some reviews online showed the guitar neck did not sit all the way or the headstock was hitting the bottom of the case.
The storage slot holds quite a bit. I was able to fit Nordic Essentials portable/foldable guitar stand, two cables, Shure GDXL16 wireless system, box of strings, and a few other miscellaneous items.
The potential issue I saw, was the case had some gaps between the two halves. Although, with the o-ring and lip, I suspect it would not be an issue unless the case got submerged in water.

Flew half way around the world with this thing, and it did its job well. The locks are great and it protects the guitar very well. I have an Epi Les Paul and it fits in perfectly. I would not recommend this for gigging/day-to-day use because it’s just overkill. However, if you’re going to be flying, I definitely recommend it.

Top Case!!! Tough Quality!!!
Lori Joseph –
I heard from some friends that this was the best non-custom case you could get, so I picked it up before an out of town gig this past weekend. My guitar didn’t look like it could have shifted an inch. The case held up great!
I have a Heritage H150 (custom shop working out of an old Gibson factory) so I had hoped the form factor was close enough, and it was. Fit perfect, completely safe, and the wheels made carting it around great. I definitely recommend this case for anyone planning on flying.

Probably the best flightcase for a Les Paul sized guitar I’ve come across. It fit all my son’s 4 LPs (1976 Custom, 2008 Standard, 2012 Robot & 1992 Junior) provided that you rotated the tuners parallel to the headstock (ensuring that the neck is fully supported and allowing the fragile headstock to fully float). The Standard survived Easyjet flight both ways. Highly recommended.
Purveyor of Truth –
With all the current photos of broken guitars on social media sites and guitars being turned away as carry on baggage as well as the weight limits for checked bags I decided to do some research for travel cases for my expensive and beloved Les Paul. I found this case which is modern has TSA approved locks, sturdy case, waterproof and it’s light weight so even with my heavy guitar it weighs in under the 50lb limit. I would highly recommend this for the occasional rocker who travels!
