I’m actually mad at myself for not buying one of these before. I had seen the price and was very apprehensive as we have had the issue of my son shooting and hitting the top bar of the goal and ball goes flying everywhere. Hits our house, hits the neighbors house, out to the street. This has 100% solved that issue. Easy setup and performance has been fantastic. Can’t recommend enough.

So easy to install and keep in place ALL season/year long. I have NEVER taken it off. My son rarely throws a ball outside of the reaches of this backstop. Well worth the $$ in how many lacrosse balls you will save yourself from losing over its lifetime. We’ve had ours up on our goal for over 2 years with no signs of wearing out. When I did have a piece that was starting to wear, Michael from customer support could not have been more responsive; and is sending us out 4 new replacement bungee cords. Totally love this company, and would buy another one in a heartbeat (but as I mentioned, it’s holding up so well, I will know NEVER have to). An even bigger testament to its durability is, if the wind ever blows over our goal (and we live in a very windy area) the net stay perfectly put. (I will say this, though, I do keep the net retracted as much as possible when not in use to prevent from being blown over). I have even had the nets come flying open in the wind, and when I go to put them back up, I have never had a single problem retracting and raising the nets. I just check to ensure the corner handles are still tightly engaged and bamo – back in business. I tell EVERYONE that it’s a MUST have item if your son wants to shoot in the backyard.
Your goal net will wear out far sooner than this product ever will. If I could give it 6 stars I would. The best PERIOD!!

First it didn’t come with all the pieces but the seller was very responsive. They did send the right pieces. I would just caution this wasn’t easy to put together but it is well worth it .

I used to lose around 2-6 balls every time I would shoot, more importantly though I was braking more windows than I could count. The price may seem steep but I can ensure you its a great investment. Installing the back stop was easy and I love the fold down design, the brackets are fairly durable and the net is plenty large. With the backstop I get three times the amount of shots in that I did without it, I dont have to stress buying inexpensive balls to compensate for how fast they get lost, and I wont ever have to worry about breaking a window again! When one of the brackets did break due to heavy wet snow customer service replaced it free of charge! 10/10, would recommend to anyone who shoots regularly!

This is one of the only products I have purchased for our lacrosse program that has really impressed me with its ease of use and durability. After installing it, I figured my high school players would destroy it in a couple of weeks ripping shots in it, but it has just enough play in the netting that I think this thing is actually going to hold up for a long time! With my club, this thing will pay for itself in lost ball savings in a few few years, lol

This is a great product. The backstop is very easy to setup right out of the box and although new I can tell it is very sturdy. The backstop also folds down very easily when you are not using the goal. It allows our son to focus on shooting rather than chasing missed shots throughout the backyard. The customer service is exceptional, I would highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a backstop.

I ordered the first generation Smart Backstop on September 22, 2017. My son and I use it regularly on an outdoor goal. The Backstop stays on the goal outside year-round. It’s been fantastic to shoot on knowing we won’t be sleeping in the doghouse from breaking house windows.
Fast forward to Memorial weekend May, 2019. I wrote to Smart Sports Tek via Amazon over the holiday weekend to ask if they sell the Corner Bracket assemblies as one snapped after a bad storm a couple weeks prior. I got an answer quickly from Michael on a Sunday on a 3 day weekend no less! Not only did he thank me for my purchase, he said he’d have the team get a 2nd generation Corner Bracket in the mail on Tuesday when everyone returns to work. Wait… a company that puts customer satisfaction and service first and foremost? Ideal but not always real.
Smart Sports Tek is the real deal, the product is the real deal. It’s smart, it’s durable, it’s supported. One thing I learned, aside from a strong appreciation for the company, is that as they evolve the product (16 product changes since version 1) with a goal of backward compatibility with the GEN 1 and GEN 2 systems. Per Michael, “we designed them that way so no customer is ever left behind!” More and more, products are designed to fail sooner than we’d like. This company designs their products to last. I fully support their product and happy to answer any questions.
By the way, love the ingenious accessory to weight the back of the goal to prevent tipping over. Just plain old smart.
