It’s recommended to wear this on the index finger of the non-dominant hand (for myself it’s the right). If it’s not warn there, then on the middle or ring finger with the sensor facing the palm side, closer to the base. With that said, measure your ring accordingly. I didn’t see any instructions on the product page that mentioned which finger to measure, so I went with the ring finger on my first day. In addition, the ring automatically updates the firmware immediately once it detects the ring nearby (major plus, and much better than Fitbit’s firmware update). But i was disappointed to find out it prioritized measuring the index finger, so my results might be slightly modified.
This came uncharged, and according to the FAQ guide, this is intentional, so expect this to spend some time charging once you first use this.
Here’s the part where I rante about the app, but I do acknowledge that apps are capable of changing and upgrading, so it’s possible these could get fixed later in the future.
Like with all fitness trackers, this requires their app in order to properly track, which in this case is an app called Qring. The app is a bit unusual, you have to turn on stress detection, SPO2 Detection, and heart rate detection. Sleep and steps are tracked by default. As I’m a woman, it provide an option to track menstrual cycle, but it works in the worse possible way. Why does it ask for “Last Menstrual period” instead of the start of the menstrual period? I don’t track or care about the end, I want to track the beginning and go from there.
I am using a Fitbit watch to compare with this, and found that it doesn’t track all the steps compared to my fitbit. In addition, it mentions the values are defaulted to 10, so you need to make at least 10 steps before it starts tracking the steps. So I got nearly 9k steps on my fitbit while my ring received 5k. Again, I’m using it on my ring finger as I measured this for my ring. For sleep measurements, it correctly able to track the time I went to sleep, however incorrectly assessed my waking time by 20+ minutes.
So I do think they need to make better updates to the app as there’s a few issues, but the device itself is decent.

I want to first start this review by saying I received this item for free but that this does not affect my review or opinion of the item.
I have been wanting to try a smart fitness ring for awhile now and was able to finally have an opportunity through vine. I have an apple watch but one of the issues with that is the battery life. I have been wearing the ring for about a week alongside my apple watch.
For starters, this gadget requires a free app called “QRing”. With alot of these devices, I don’t like using random apps that require sign up. Luckily in this case, there is no sign up required and on the app store it shows that no data is collected. While those are good signs, I still would be cautious about what information you put in.
The app does feature Apple health sync, so all the tracked data can be sent to the apple health app. In case you don’t know, you can actually tell the health app what data tracker it should prioritize. For example, for sleep I have the Qring app first, and then my apple watch as fallback. If I wear both my watch and ring to bed, it will prioritize the ring over the watch, and if I don’t wear the ring, then it will take my watches collected sleep data instead.
It was relatively easy to connect the ring to the app, I charged it the moment it arrived and connected it while it was charging.
In the app, after setting up health kit, I had to manually set up the information that I wanted to track such as my heart rate, stress and blood oxygen. While I said earlier there is not sign up required, you do have to sign up for their app if you want to review data from the past week/month/year within the app. This is avoidable by using apple healthkit. The only caveat is sleep mode, which is written to apple health in less detail than within the rings app.
Overall, this ring is a good product minus a few minor complaints. Considering there are other more costly options, this is a good product for the price and I would recommend it.
Adopt, don’t shop –
I got this for my spouse after he saw someone else wearing one and wanted one for himself. The only thing we had to do was measure his finger and order the correct size. Once it got here, he had to download an app to his smartphone and pair his ring to it. He had a problem doing that in the beginning, but he finally figured it out and now it works. He used to have one of those fitness trackers that you wear on your wrist, but he likes the ring much better. This thing reports a ton of information, like steps walked and calories burned, heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep time and quality, and stress level. It comes with a USB cord to charge it, and will give you a visual cue when the battery is starting to run low. He wore it fully charged for two days, and is now getting an alert that it needs to be charged.
My spouse really likes this fitness tracker; the app is easy to use and the ring is less cumbersome than a device that you wear on your wrist. It’s dust and waterproof, although the instructions say if it gets wet to dry it off as quickly as you can. One complaint is that the ring does not come in half sizes, so you may have to change which finger you wear it on depending on your finger size.
