SOG PowerLitre Mini Utility Multi-Tool, 19 Tools

Una herramienta, excelente si bien es lo que algunos denominan económica, la verdad es que cumple lo que promete.
La uso todos los días, y con una pequeña modificación en la hoja de la navaja para poder desplegarla con una sola mano, es excelente para portar como EDC.
Cómoda, muy ligera, no creo que soporte trabajos pesados, pero el día a día, en casa, para fijar, atornillar hacer pequeños ajustes en la bicicleta, es perfecta.

This is the second one I’ve owned the first one was a user error and put all my weight on it and it broke but believe me it took alot if force, I loved it so much I had to get another, at first the tools are hard to get out till it wears in but, everything on this tool is practical and works beyond what I thought it would for it’s size, I don’t think you will be disappointed for the price at all

The size is perfect for my watch-pocket on my jeans. The finish is a cool denim steel that is easy to keep clean. The function is pretty good. My only complaint is the lock is kind of a pain to deal with and feels flimsy. That aside, I’d recommend this to a friend.

Great quality, sturdy, small, real pocket size and lock open tools.

I had several small multitools before like the Gerber Dime, Leatherman Style PS and others. I accidentally broke the Dime pliers before using very little force and I feel like the Style PS is also not robust enough for my daily routine. On the other hand, I also don’t want to carry a full blown multitool on my pockets or belt, because of its size & weight.

PROS:
– SOG PowerLite is a multitool that is right in the middle of these 2 categories: its not small enough that it might break if you need to use a little bit of force and it’s not large/heavy enough that is uncomfortable to carry in a pocket;
– It has a variety of decent tools that are very useful including knife, scissors, pliers, a magnetic hex bit holder, a corkscrew, among others.

CONS:
– Poor quality control: I had to order a replacement for SOG PowerLite as the tool would display a gap when closed. The replacement also has this problem but the gap is smaller. As I don’t have the patience required to ask for a replacement of the replacement, I’ll keep it.
– Did I mentioned poor quality control? Both tools were very greasy when taken out of the package. I had to clean them up to remove the oil that was all over the place. Not sure if this was intentional to prevent the tool from rust, but I didn’t had to clean any of my Leatherman’s and Gerber’s.
– The Awl: the needs of a Swiss Army soldier in 1890 are very different from a modern urban person that might carry this tool as part of their EDC. No one is carrying canvas, leather and cord on their person everyday for emergency repairs of let’s say, a backpack or a shoe. Also, anyone considering a multitool for outdoor activities should carry a more robust and reliable full-sized multitool. The Awl should be replaced by something more useful based on modern urban needs;

First of all, there is another Internet store that offers this product for all most half the $$$, But after much digging into the low price offered, In a hard to find notice, that company does admit that what it is selling are actually factory seconds that cannot be sold retail, and are intended as a source of replacement ‘spare parts’, so you get what you pay for…

For the price, the SOG Price Liter does offer a good selection of tools, which in some comparison, is even better then the Leatherman’s products in the similar size/weight range. (They include the itty, bitty Straight/Philips Jeweler’s/Eyeglass screw bits that the less expensive small Leatherman products lack…) However, the product is not manufactured in the US like the Leatherman products, and the production quality is not up to the Leatherman standards. I have found that out of the box, the locking knife blade is somewhat dull and needed to be sharpened. Fortunately, I already had a pen knife sharpener that with just 2 strokes made the blade as sharp as a Leatherman knife blade. Reading other reviews on the SOG Power liter product, they say that the other sharp edged tools on the SOG product (e.g. Gut Hock, Scissor, Can Opener. And the Cork Screw, which is what I bought this SOG product for is a fantastic design !!!) which I have not tried yet, may need to be sharpened as well. I don’t blame SOG for having these edged tools on the dull side, as regardless, with regular use these tools must be rehappened regardless. You just need to know the tools required to do this. Leatherman does sell a multi-tool sharpener that can handle all but that Can Opener fine. And that embedded diamond dust file on the more expensive multi-tool products can do that thing just fine….
