I just adore the cover. There’s no way a child could pass this up on the bookshelf! Each double-page spread features a different child and pet. The poetry is fun, bouncy, and purposeful — the rhymes describe how the child shows love by caring for the pet. Gentle reminders such as “I never pull his tail” and “I don’t tap” (on the glass) help kids remember how to play responsibly with a pet. It’s all just precious and sweet.
