Overall I have had good luck with this player. It’s quite compact. I use an Ethernet cable, so that I received the fastest possible speed with my internet service. I’ve streamed a couple of movies from Amazon, and they worked out fine. I’ve played both standard DVD’s as well as Blu-Ray discs, and both have played without an issue.
The remote is small / compact, but it works fine. It took me a couple of minutes to find out how to sync the remote with my TV (instructions are tucked-away on the set-up paper).
One thing I really like is the USB port. I have a Western Digital passport drive, with lots of videos and pictures, so it’s really great to be able to view them through the Sony device.
Overall I’m very pleased. It’s small. . . . it’s affordable. . . and it works. What more can you ask for?

When I first plugged in my Sony Blue Ray/DVD Player BDP-S3700 into the TV’s HDMI2 port the TV did not recognize the connection. I powered the TV on and off and it didn’t help. I powered the Sony Blue Ray/DVD Player on and off and the TV still did not recognize it. I noted that the Verizon DVR component that was plugged into HDMI1 seemed to be having issues with it. I rebooted the DVR device, and turned the TV off and then back on again after the DVR rebooted. I powered the Sony Blue Ray/DVR Player and everything was working as it should. Could see the Blue Ray/DVD Player on HDMI2 and the DVR on HDMI1.
The Blue Ray/DVD Player worked well and like the small compact size. The streaming component also worked well and tested it with my Amazon Prime account.
I bought this Blue Ray/DVD Player to replace an older, much larger Sony Blue Ray/DVD Player that stopped recognizing Blue Ray’ and DVD discs. Hopefully this player lasts longer than the last one.
For the price this player and streaming device seems definitely worth the money. Love that it is Wifi so don’t have to have an ethernet connection to get to the internet.

DVDs are out of demand now after the arrival of OTT platform. But since I have a collection of more than 500 DVDs I wanted to buy one. Sony is the best brand even though ₹25k is too high in today’s date. But I always prefer SONY…. because my TV too is SONY. 👍👍👍. Its good and you can watch all region DVDS and there is also an USB slot.

This Bluray player is small and compact, with wifi! Easy to find a spot near your tv. Have been using for some time now, without problems. Would recommend it.

Wanted to upgrade my music fidelity. Spotify is great for in the car or background music, but when you want to listen to just the music, especially if you want it to be loud, Spotify is just not good enough quality. I bought Amazon’s HD/HD Ultra service. Their HD Ultra sounds awesome, 24 bit samples at sample rates from 48k Hz to 192k Hz FLAC lossless encoded, but they don’t have a big enough selection. So I bought this Sony player and dug out my old CD’s. Sounds and works great. CD’s are 16 bit samples, and uncompressed. I’m using the Sony HDMI output into one amp/receiver, and the unit’s Digital Coax output into a second amp/receiver for a second room. Both output simultaneously. I also used Windows Media Player to FLAC lossless encode a bunch of CD’s. I put the FLAC files on a 256GB USB memory stick, plugged this into the Sony’s USB port, and these play and sound great! The Sony player will play through all FLAC files in a selected directory and then stop. So you can make playlists by building files of FLAC files. Not sure how you could use the Sony USB port without a TV connection to the Amp/Receiver to navigate through Sony menus.

I bought this player to use in my bedroom. I also have the previous model, the 3500, in my living room from a previous purchase. First, it’s a great blu ray player and I have no trouble getting it to read even DVDs from the local library. Compared to the previous model, this version is much faster, especially noticeable when browsing Youtube. On the 3500 it was kind of sluggish (not as bad as the Roku Stick but still pretty bad), but on the 3700 it navigates very smoothly. The 3700 also has some more apps than the 3500 but nothing that particularly interests me (mostly generic movie channels and Indian programming).
I do have two bones to pick with both models, however. First is the dedicated app buttons to things like Netflix on the controller. My big hands too often accidentally press it on the small controller. I ended up programming my universal remote to use in it but my universal remote doesn’t have all the features as the Sony controller. Still beats it cutting to Netflix unexpectedly.
Second is that both models do not work well with HDMI switches/hubs. I have an older TV for my bedroom with only one HDMI port, so that is where my HDMI switch comes in. My HDMI switch has trouble with the Sony signal and will cycle between my different HDMI devices without actually displaying either one. Without the Sony blu ray player connected, the HDMI switch functions perfectly fine. I’ve read that this is a problem with Sony products in general, but I haven’t tested it with my PS4 (it’s in my living room on a newer TV). If you have this problem, the best solution I have found is resetting your surge protector(s) but you may still have to fiddle with the HDMI cables anyway. If you can get it set, you don’t hsve to worry about it. But if you have to disconnect something or if your power goes out, you’ll probably have to fix it again.
I’ve heard other people have had issuss with the disk tray but I personally have not run into this problem.
Overall, I would recommend this player.

I had purchased this product in Feb 2024. Within 2 months it has stopped working. It’s no longer detecting CD/DVD inserted and doesn’t play it. It was never ever expected from ‘Sony’ brand. Even though I had purchased is with ‘Multi Region’ support, ‘Sony’ support team recommended me to try with Indian region DVDs.
Overall, not happy with the product and kind of response received from their support team.
