I have tried several of the sub-$100 smart watches sold online and most of them suffer from the same flaws: attractive cases but childish-looking interface and watch faces, lacking sophistication and customization. While they usually work well they are watches you could wear at work if you want to be taken seriously.
So I was impressed that this watch improved on many of those limitations. But the first thing to be aware of if this watch is big! I have a small wrist and the case is almost the same width as the latter. I think I can still pull it off but it’s on the limit. Thankfully, the watch is made of light material and doesn’t feel heavy especially if you use the silicone band instead of the metal one. The overall craftsmanship is excellent and the overall look is quite attractive in a sporty oversized way. The case feels sturdy and both bands seem durable. The silicone band is especially well-crafted, made of a thick but very flexible and comfortable material. It had enough holes for a snug fit and the two loops keep everything tied together neatly.
The metal band does fit better with the aesthetic of the case but unless you have a big wrist you will need to remove some of the links. The box includes a tool to do it but I have not tried it yet.
The best part of this watch is of course the large AMOLED screen. The colours are so lively and bright it can easily rival Samsung devices (also known for their AMOLED screens). It might not have retina-display level of sharpness but everything is crisp and legible with no fuzziness.
One of the areas where this watch really improved over the competition is the number of pre-installed and customizable watch faces. Typically, watches in this price range offer between 5 to 10 pre-installed ones and only 1 additional one that you can pick from their library. This one offers 15 pre-installed and 4 additional ones. Unfortunately, many still look gaudy and childish but there are a few really beautiful ones that you can proudly show off to friends and colleagues. To access the extra ones you will need to install the DaFit app on your phone. While you can still use the watch without the app, it only really becomes a smartwatch once it’s paired with the app. Thankfully the latter is not too intrusive and only ask for permissions that make sense and you can revoke those at any time. The app keeps a record if all the exercise and health-related measurements such as steps, heartbeat and blood pressure among others. While you should take these measurements with a grain of salt, they did not seem too far off when compared to other means of measurement.
Other things that impressed me: this watch can actually play music. The quality is not audiophile quality by any means but in a pinch it could definitely be entertaining.
On the other hand, like most cheaper smartwatches, its charging cable is rather short and the magnet not very strong so it can get disconnected pretty easily if not laid flat, close to a power supply. If you usually like to have your watch charging on your bedside table, you probably won’t be able to do so with this one unless you get an extension cord.
I could write much more about this device but the gist of it is that it’s an appealing watch with a superb screen and many improvements over past smartwatches in this price range. It’s certainly not perfect but as a first, affordable smartwatch for yourself or someone else, there’s a lot to like and at $70, it is a good value. Just be mindful of the size of the case. Some people will find it too big.

There could have been better instructions but overall a good watch for the price.

As a longtime analog watch enthusiast, I was initially hesitant to embrace a smartwatch. My recent purchase has completely changed my perspective. However, I didn’t like the looks of that one and was looking for a better smart watch which looks professional. I ended up buying this smart watch which I found an impressive blend of style, functionality, and convenience.
The sleek metal design and interchangeable bands allow me to effortlessly transition from casual to professional settings. The ability to make calls, play music, and receive notifications directly from my wrist is a game-changer, especially when I’m busy working.
The built-in health tracking features, including step counting, sedentary time monitoring, and alarms, have been incredibly helpful in maintaining a healthier lifestyle. The integrated timer and stopwatch have also proven invaluable for keeping track of my experiments, eliminating the need for additional timekeeping devices.
While the price may be higher than some other smartwatches, I believe it’s justified by the superior quality, design, and features.

I spent a few months looking for smartwatch, but a more sophisticated style than what Apple, Samsung, Garmin, and other cannot provide w/o the hefty price tag. Finally, I came across a watch from a company called SOUYIE. Never heard of them, but the reviews and warranty was a very tempting sale. I searched so many watches and read so many reviews. So, this watch had so many good reviews on all aspects of the watch. I decide to give them a chance and Carted 1.
Wow! Let me tell you, this watch doesn’t disappoint or veer too far from what was advertised. It’s not perfect, but close is good enough for the affordable sales price bargain. It does everything that I was looking for and more that I have not explored yet. What is so awesome is that I can talk on my wrist phone just like a real secret agent. Who knew this day was real, not me at 10 watching James Bond talking on his timepiece back wayyyyy when.
If you are looking for a deal on a comparable smartwatch who rivals the Benjamin killers brands, this is where you stop. It’s not the perfect smartwatch, but performances just as good or better than most! You can make calls, listen to music, workout, sleep, run, walk, the last and most ingenious option is that you can load your own background for the clock face. If this watch lasts me 5 years, I’ll purchase another one when mine retires in 5, hope not. Recommended 👍
04/14/24 ( Updates-software glitches)
Well, it has been a couple of weeks now since I been using this watch and putting it through my daily routine. No doubt, that it’s an eye catcher. This is its best feature by far compared to other watches. But, there are more expectations from a smart watch beyond looks. Recently, the software started to lockup while I was using it, twice so far, reboot fixed it. Another time, I started a workout session and the software closed out the workout and I had restart it. This happened twice as well and I lost that workout data.
The Bluetooth connection is solid, which is another plus for this watch. One thing that I noticed is that when I close the app, the temperature settings and notifications defaults to factory settings. Annoying, but not a show stopper. One other thing is that the phone call function is NOT always spot on, sometimes it works and other times, nothing. Not good while conducting important business calls. ( Will have to consult w/ Apple Watch users if they experience what I noticed on my watch)
The BP, HeartCK, O2 seems to be functional. As far as accuracy or on target, I have yet to compare it to a calibrated medical equipment. This part requires further use and validation.
For now, it seems to be functioning ok. Downgrading to “ As expected” from an off brand company.

This is a reasonably decent (albeit basic in comparison to most others) fitness tracker/smart watch (SW-7) that appears well-built and for the most part works as expected. It has 3 of the most common monitors (HR, BP, and SpO2) which are quite typical for these fitness trackers nowadays. What set this apart from many others though is that it comes with a stainless steel strap as well as a silicone/TPU one; I personally prefer stainless steel strap. Of course, one of the best features of this is that it has an AMOLED screen that’s noticeably better than most others.
It does have many of the standard features as most other budget or off-brand smart watches have and the screen can be set to always stay on if needed. In addition, it has 3x crowns/pushers, which is great because additional shortcut keys can be set with them.
≡ Note
These so-called SMART WATCHES are really just FITNESS TRACKERS with added features (i.e. flashlight, calculator; mostly useless ones too) and it’s NOT a true smart watch/device. A true smart device operates by itself on its own without the NEED to install an App for it to run and without depending on another device (i.e. your phone) to run.
For instance, if your PHONE requires an App to be installed on a LAPTOP in order for various functions on your phone to work, or if your phone would lose certain features WHEN your laptop goes offline, would you consider your phone to be a SMART phone? Well, I wouldn’t and I’ll be extremely upset if that’s the case, and that’s exactly what happens here most of these so-called smart watches.
###
≡ Features
By standard I don’t mean one or two, in fact, the standard nowadays is about a dozen or so including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen, or even glucose monitor just to name a few. It has 3 monitors which is great; unfortunately, 2 of the monitors (HR and BP) don’t seem to be accurate at all (SpO2 appears to be reasonably accurate for the most part although we know the figures for the vast majority of healthy people is usually either 98% or 99%) which is quite upsetting to have found out after numerous tests. In addition, the steps counter seems to be off by about 3300+ so that’s not exactly accurate either but it’s certainly not the worst.
I should also mention that an increasing large number of these devices that I’ve come across lately have all suffered from the same (or at least quite similar) issues which implies to me that perhaps hardware (sensors and/or other related components) under the hood is identical across ALL of these watches.
It also has the typical sports and/or exercise related features that many others have. It has a reasonably large screen of 1.43″ (for round case) in comparison to many others with a 1.32/1.38″ screen. With that being said, 1.43″ is somewhat of a norm at this point in time for these watches with a round case so that’s that. I should also note that the advertised 100+ sports requires the app; otherwise, only a handful or so are available (which is more than most people would need under normal circumstance). The same can be said for watch faces/styles (200+ claimed) too and that’s a common practice for these devices nowadays.
≡ Battery
Its battery capacity is 400 mAh but it’s unverified although that’s noticeably higher than the average/norm (around 300 mAh or so) for these trackers. In either case, whatever the capacity might be, the only thing I really care is that it can last me an entire day (charge once a day is fine with me).
With that being said, I also don’t have a clue about the longevity of the battery but that’s a common concern for all rechargeable smart watches out there (i.e. battery dies unexpected fast). Note that the default screen timeout is 5sec which is unusably short for me but it can be increased up to 30 seconds (whereas some other can’t t at all while a few can do 60 sec) so that’s great. I don’t necessarily want 30 sec but it’s nice to have the options (I set mine to 15sec). It can always be disabled if needed as aforementioned.
≡ Water resistance
Btw, these fitness trackers/smart watches are NOT meant to be submerged in water (salty or otherwise) longer than a few minute even though they often advertise as being IP68 or even 5 ATM which is completely nonsensical if you know what that really means (around 50m under water but it’s really meant for accidental submersion); otherwise, there is an extremely high probability that it will die prematurely, as I’ve found out the hard way.
≡ App
For those who are curious about what the ‘DaFit’ app (3.1 rating) requires;
✘ Any data may be shared with other companies or organizations, including but not limited to;
* Email address and Phone number, Fitness info, Precise location, Photos and videos, Contacts
* SMS or MMS, Files and docs, Installed apps, Device or other IDs
✘ Data isn’t encrypted (typical practice in China)
* Data is encrypted during transit
✘ Device & app history
* read sensitive log data
✘ Contacts
* read your contacts
✘ Location
* approximate location (network-based), precise location (GPS and network-based)
✘ Phone
* directly call phone numbers, read call log, read phone status and identity, Photos/Media/Files
* read the contents of your USB storage, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
✘ Storage
* read the contents of your USB storage, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
✘ Camera & Microphone
* take pictures and videos, record audio
✘ Wi-Fi connection information
* view Wi-Fi connections
✘ Device ID & call information
* read phone status and identity
✘ Other
* receive data from Internet, view network connections, pair with Bluetooth devices, control vibration
* access Bluetooth settings, control flashlight, full network access, run at startup, prevent device from sleeping
✘ Note
Like nearly all other budget smart watches (or any other ‘smart’ devices really) out there, an App is REQUIRED for this to function at its fullest which means you are giving the manufacturer (and whoever they decide to share it with or without your permission) AND the app OWNER (i.e. some company in China and that equates to the gov in this case) your COMPLETE and entire historical data.
Some people consider some of these (i.e. precise GPS location, health info, heart rate, blood pressure, or the alike) to be ‘extremely’ personal information and therefore are private. Data mining, analysis, prediction, and eventually profit making and/or a form of control will be vital in many aspects of our lives in the foreseeable future. If this concerns you at all, look elsewhere.
###
≡ Value
All things considered, this is a fairly decent FITNESS TRACKER (with some smart watch functions) that works just fine if you don’t care about any of the issues mentioned above , in particular the issues with the HR/BP monitors and to a certain degree the step counter. It’s reasonably priced at $60 for what it provides (a generic fitness tracker, SW-7) and its overall build quality, features, usability, and performance. Your mileage might vary.

I was looking for a gift for my boyfriend and so far it has been the best purchase, it’s an elegant watch with a modern design, with good connectivity such as receiving calls and text messages, it has a health tracker, you can customize it to your liking and the most important thing is that the battery has a good life
Sam –
Watch work perfect for three month, after that it won’t charge and it has not worked again. Never again will I shop your products
Bouguila –
I’ve been using the SOUYIE Men’s Smart Watch, and it’s been a pleasant experience overall. The 1.43″ HD AMOLED screen is bright and looks great, making it easy to read notifications and track my activities. I appreciate the ability to make and answer calls directly from my wrist—it’s really convenient when I can’t reach my phone. With 107 sports modes, it covers pretty much every type of workout I do, and the health tracking features, like sleep and heart rate monitoring, are helpful for keeping tabs on my fitness.
The watch looks stylish with its steel and silicone straps, and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day. it’s a solid smartwatch that offers a lot of useful features.
Kevin Allen –
I am very impressed. The sleek design and comfortable strap make it perfect for everyday wear and really impressed me! The HD screen is bright and responsive and easy to operate. Overall, this smartwatch is powerful, stylish and I can see very well. Overall, this smartwatch is feature-rich and a great value. Highly recommended!
Leidy –
The value and quality is really impressive. It certainly works as described. So far, this smartwatch is working perfectly. It sits beautifully on the wrist and has a large screen. Beautifully designed with so many dials and so many fitness features to explore. Now I can easily track my fitness. Connecting the band is very simple just download the app and connect. I was also surprised when I saw the battery life.
Jitu –
I love smart watches. I have many of them. I picked up this SOUYIE model because of the round watch face. I wanted something that would work better for more formal affairs. I’ve now had it for a month and I’m very happy with the purchase.
Set up was easy and it paired right away to my Samsung phone. Spent a few hours customizing it to my preferences while familiarizing myself with its myriad of features, and by day 2, I felt completely comfortable with it on my wrist. The phone setup works well, I was able to call and receive and it’s loud and clear enough that you don’t need to raise your voice.
The text messaging part works also but partial. It does not show all message text and cannot respond. But for what I need it not a show stopper. The font is big enough that I can read but prefer it on my phone for it’s bigger and easer to respond. This is just a good reminder that you got a text when your phone is not in reach.
All stats work well, such as step counter, Weather forecasts, Sleep Patterns, StopWatch, Timer, Alarm, Player…etc. For the other feature like BP, Heart Rate, SP02 and Stress is not to bad but I will not rely on it 100%. Some complain about it but you cannot take those numbers rather than going to your doctor.
All in All I like this Smartwatch and very happy on my purchased. I hope they continue to improved the software and some latest firmware to keep the watch working well… Recommended 100%
