bueno:

NEW UPDATE, ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASE:
Case has simply come apart. The clip just broke. I am still getting a speck replacement though.
WHY: it also lost a corner, this time protecting the iPad from a fall. Nothing happened to the iPad, though it landed on the corner. Not even a dent. It’s also taken a couple more nasty falls, and has come out unscathed.
I will chose a different model, because the problem with the stand seems not to b there with other models. But he solidity of the case is unrivaled from what I continue to see. I think the new models have fixed those issues.
I also think that if they made the frame more silicone or rubber based, it would be both more resilient and as protective. Hard plastic is mor brittle.
Still,as I said, best all considered, especially the competition!
[After a week or so, I am raising to five stars and reporting that the groove problem is not that big. Only if you are pushing the screen or something. This is really outstanding, great fit and the BEST protection I have seen in all the cases I have tried]
Almost perfect–they need to fix the grooves for better positions!
This is by far the sturdier case from all that I have tried (about 10, I would think).
Solid protection of the corners, which many leave entirely uncovered.
Solid closing mechanism, with a clip the longevity of which remains to be seen.
Very nice quality faux leather, seems resistant to hits.
And mutliple positions.
Only problem is the grooves in which the iPad sits for the positions: they are too shallow, so the iPad easily gets pushed out of position. Not hard to fix. They should.
And someone should devise a secure position for iPads to stand on portrait; that is necessary too.
Otherwise, just bought, but seem happiest with quality upon fitting. Let’s see how well it lasts.
And btw, I am a monochrome person in taste. But some of the covers are gorgeous and I am paying double for the birds. Says something…

Perfect! This case replaces my previous red Speck case (which was finally looking a little ragged after 2 1/2 years of constant daily use). I’ve been using only Speck iPad cases and here’s why:
CLOSURE: The old case had an elastic band closure and I prefer this snap-type closure better. I don’t think it will wear out while (after 2 years) the elastic began to stretch.
AUTO ON/OFF: Also, I like that this case has whatever it is (Magnets? I have no idea.) that automatically turns your iPad off when you close the case and turns it on when you open it.
SCREEN VISIBILITY (& CLEANABILITY): The other thing I love about this Speck iPad case is that it’s the only case I’ve found where you can see the entire iPad screen. Most other cases are essentially “sleeves” that you slide your iPad down into, losing about a 1/2″ all the way around. I realize the 1/2″ doesn’t interfere with the actual, lit portion of the screen, but it still bothers me. Also, I’ve found those cases make it harder to clean your iPad screen completely without removing it, since dust and crumbs tend to get stuck underneath the edges of the sleeve. With this case, your iPad snaps in securely with very minimal screen overlap…I don’t know how they do it, actually, but it’s awesome!
IPAD POSITIONING: The case folds completely backwards, making it nearly as thin and compact as if the iPad had no case. This is primarily how I use my case when reading. There are 4 other official landscape viewing angles (even more if you get creative), which I use when watching video, primarily.
SLEEKNESS: This case is super sleek. My boys have bulky Ottherboxes and Survivor cases because they tend to be, well, boys. However, I just needed some general protection when carrying this case around, slipping it inside my handbag/laptop case, etc. This is the thinnest iPad case on the market, but still provides the perfect protection for my purposes! I have never had a screen protector (film) on my iPad, just this case. Yet I’ve used the same iPad daily (frequently throughout the day!) for nearly 3 years and it has never been scratched or cracked (though I totally realize I just jinxed myself). There is some amount of drop protection as well, as I have done that a few times. I don’t recommend you test that too often, though. 😉
STYLE: I don’t really care too much about colors or have to have The Cutest Case Out There, because the features above are more important to me. That said, I don’t want a black/gray/brown case that just blends in with all the others. I loved my previous red case because it stood out and was easy to locate. This teal is perfect for that, too. During a recent vacation in a mountain home with 8 adults, 9 kids, and 5 zillion iDevices, my teal Speck was the easiest to identify!
VALUE: I don’t change out cases every month like some people. Once I find a case I like, I stick with it. I’d pay $100 for this case because it is EXACTLY what fits my lifestyle. That said, I’m glad the cost is less than 1/2 of that.

I’ve had this for 6 months now and I’m very very pleased with this Peacock (turquoise) colored Speck cover. I like that it doesn’t add a lot of weight or thickness to the iPad and that it opens and closes very easily and stays securely closed (turning off the screen when it closes). It fits very snugly and securely. The bright, solid color stands out and makes my iPad easy to find, even in a cluttered area. So far there is absolutely no visible wear and tear except for some staining on the inside faux suede-type material. At $17 with very fast delivery and such excellent performance, I am very happy. The price was very attractive, but even at a higher price this would still be a good value. Highly recommend. (One caveat – this is my first iPad cover, so I don’t have any experience with other products – so I don’t know how this cover stacks up against other brands. But based on my own experience with this cover, I would definitely buy it again.)
