I got one of these even though I have two places. The places are across the street so for the rare need I don’t need two. They are a sturdy Plier and can take a lot of pressure. I have a particularly strong grip from pruning trees from a rope saddle for years. Sometimes you just need more pressure and longer handles. I worn you that you can damage tough nuts.
Thinking of it you might be able to crack Macadamia nuts with these. I’ll have to give it a try.

In the middle of a toilet crisis my old red-handled stanley set were nowhere to be found. Despite my fears regarding quality at this price, I was pleasantly suprised to find out theyre actually really nice pliers. The handles are the tiny-est bit too thick if youre being critical, but considering the price and the quality I could care less. Theyre just as good as my old plumbing pliers, and sometimes the extra thickness has given me… well… extra grip. The metal is quality, there is some spring in the handles but no bending, good stuff. $8 bucks with another $4 for next day shipping using amazon prime, I still ended up spending less than if I had gone down somewhere and bought them, unless its some bargain depot tool place where you get those horrible cheap tools. I would highly reccomend these pliers to anyone, because of their price and quality.
The only con I could think of is the banana yellow-ness, but its nothing a permenant marker cant fix, just make sure its really permenant so it doesnt bleed. I used a large red perm. marker and got a neat orange.

These are high-quality slip joint pliers at a very reasonable price. If you do plumbing, you need slip joint pliers ( also known as channel lock pliers under a different brand name) They adjust to fit nearly any size pipe joint that is found in a residential setting. They work perfectly for installing and removing drain pipes, hot and cold water pipes, replacing the washers in faucets and many other plumbing chores. I have several pair of these slip joint plires.

Prior to buying this Stanley Groove Joint Pliers, I was a little concerned about the negative reviews, almost all of which stated that the tool broke on the first use. But I went ahead and ordered it anyway and it turned out to be a very high quality tool, both in the “fit and finish” and in function. It’s one of the tools I used when I did some work on my old junker (thermostat replacement, hose replacements, and other maintenance). No breakage! YAY!
Curious about the negative reviews, I went back to look through them again and noticed that, interestingly, most of these were written between mid 2013 to early 2014 (The tool has been sold since 2009). I surmised there had to be a bad batch of these tools that somehow slipped through quality control.
If you’re on the fence because you’re concerned about the negative reviews, I’d recommend that you swing for it anyway. If you get a bad copy of the tool, simply exchange it with Amazon. (Just make sure you buy DIRECT from Amazon, not from a third party seller. Amazon makes the return/exchange of defective products hassle-free and there’s no charge for return shipping.)

These Stanley groove joint pliers are a good set. I will never break them, that’s for sure. The only thing about them is, from the description on the Amazon site, I thought these pliers had the straight jaws on them, but when I received them, I found that they actually have the jaws that are made to be able to clamp down onto a pipe and hold it in place while tightening or loosening a fitting or such. I will get some use out of them, and the price was a good one, but they just are not as versitile as I had wanted them to be.

Just got these today, tried them out on some fairly heavy duty bolts and they seem to work quite well. The issues that some might have are that the warranty is only 2 yrs, not the lifetime warranty as stated on Amazon (the pair I got had yellow handles with black highlights, yet the model no. is the same). The tool is made in China, but so are most products these days. Also if you’re really picky, the black Stanley logo on the yellow handles tend to rub off somewhat easily, but for a tool of this quality for the price, it’s not a big deal. Would definitely buy again.

They may be Good Pliers??

These will Not Tighten with:
a tightening of a built in bolt….
& i am Concerned about Rust with these Newer Pliers….

I bought there pliers to remove a couple tight nuts that I could not remove with an old pair. These pliers are very smooth, and have a very comfortable grip. They are a must for any tool box. These pliers come in handy when working around the house. I also have they 8 inch stanley pliers which help when working on my car.
