This sturdy pair of pliers (along with another pair of grips) helps me with plumbing jobs that require two hands. You may want to put some tape around the jaws to prevent scratching your hardware. The handles are great if your hands, like mine, have started to hurt as you age. They are padded but not slippery, so you don’t lose control over the work.

I usually call the pros for my home projects but I decided to try a few simple plumbing projects by myself (showerhead replacement, garbage disposal replacement, faucets, etc). I bought this and a Channellock to help at these tasks and wow, this Stanley kicked the other Plier’s backside. The other pliers didn’t loosen anything, but they did strip off a lot of finish. This Stanley, however, had a “death grip” and made everything super easy. I debated taking off one star for what I hope is just a cosmetic issue … the “Slip Resistant Handle” is glued on and there was a huge gob of solidified glue sitting up where the plastic handle ends and the metal begins. My first impression was that this is pretty shoddy craftsmanship, but it’s held up very well so far.
