Daumen Hoch

I cannot say enough good things about this recumbent bike. I recently had knee replacement surgery and my surgeon stressed the importance of using one. She thought I should have my own. We live in a townhouse and I didn’t think I had room for any exercise equipment. I told her I would go to a gym. However, it’s covid and the idea didn’t thrill me. My brother spoke to my husband and very practically pointed out that I would need a recumbent bike not only to help with recovery of this knee, but also for the next one too. And that with covid, I probably wouldn’t get to the gym like I should. My husband agreed and then so did I. So we took out some furniture from one of our spare rooms, found this one from Amazon, and ordered it. It was Amazon’s Choice, and had all the requirements of the one I used at my hospital Physiotherapy department. It arrived quickly, packed securely in very sturdy cardboard packaging. My husband put it together with minimal difficulty. But the surprise to me was, how small it actually is! It takes much less space than the sofa we removed to make space for it! And it is easy to use. I started pedalling at level 1 resistance as my surgery was so recent. In two weeks, I have moved up to resistance level 3 and will probably be at that level awhile. (There are 8 levels). So far I pedal 20 minutes at a time. The seat easily adjusts with the lever at the side, sliding forward or backwards with no effort. It’s very comfortable, not small, and is nicely padded.
The bike electronics also calculates distance, heart rate, pulse etc. But I don’t actually use anything except how long I’m pedalling, and the resistance. The strap on the pedals makes it easy to slip my feet onto them. The whole bike is very sturdy, does not wobble, and is absolutely silent! My knee and leg is already seeing the benefit from daily use. I’m very satisfied.

I relied very heavily on reviews when shopping for a recumbent bike, so wanted to provide my review now that I’ve been using this bike for over 6 months.

I’m 46 years old and work out regularly, but arthritis in my back and knees now prevent me from doing some of the rigorous cardio I’ve always done in the past. A recumbent bike was recommended to me as an alternative by my physical therapist.

I wanted something simple that didn’t take up a lot of space. I don’t need videos of people yelling at me for motivation, or complicated screens tracking every statistic imaginable. I looked at other more expensive brands in stores, but kept coming back to the simplicity (and price) of this one.

This bike was easy to assemble. It took my husband and me a little over an hour. The bike overall doesn’t take up a lot of space and it’s easy to move if needed. It’s very quiet, and makes almost no noise when pedaling at speeds up to about 15 mph.

The small digital display measures speed, time, distance, calories, and heart rate. The time function is really all I use, though. The display is easy to read, until the batteries start to wear down and then begins to fade. I’ve had to replace the 2 AAA batteries about every 5 months so far, using the bike 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes per.

The seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust to reach the pedals. It provides good support for my back.

The bike is sturdy, but I wouldn’t recommend for high intensity workouts. I use it at a pace of about 13-15 mph, but when trying to pedal harder to get above 15 mph, the bike gets shaky. This is fine for my intended use, but may not work for intense training. The resistance is easy to adjust, but again, the higher the resistance, the shakier the bike will get as you push harder to pedal. I currently have it set at a resistance level of 5 and it’s still sturdy enough.

Overall, this bike works great for me as an alternative to the treadmill for days when my back and knees won’t allow that kind of exercise. For the price, size, and simplicity, I highly recommend this for light and simple workouts. I would not recommend to those looking for intense workouts or alot of bells and whistles.

Tore ligaments in my knee and, while healing, gradually built up to using a really nice recumbent bike at my physical therapist. Then I wanted something for home, to help me build strength on a daily basis. BUT I did not want to spend a lot. Was going to look at second-hand ones for sale in my city, but then saw this for $200 with great reviews. Got this bike and it is fantastic.

Delivery guys put the box in our front entry and since it is 65-ish lbs, we managed to get it to its final room without trouble. Awkward to put together, but relatively easy to put together – all steps except 1 is very simple, the 1 slightly harder step we worked out with patience and the direction diagrams.

VERY stable. Since my knee is still far from 100%, it was important that this bike not be tippy. It is rock solid and not wobbly in any direction. We have it on carpet. It is also easy to stand up from the bike seat – 2 sets of handles to help and since it is overall stable…very easy to push up and stand.

Resistance goes from almost 0 to higher than I can do right now. Smooth action of cycling at my current level. Son took it up multiple levels and really gave it a go – still smooth action. Silent when cycling.

Seat and back rest are comfortable – although I added a small pillow on the seat for extra cushion. Also added some c-clamps to front handle to have a shelf for my iPad.

Seems solidly built and does not seem like it will fall apart. Small footprint overall, and digital readout runs on batteries (so no cords to trip over).

I did not expect a lot for $200 and this FAR FAR exceeds my expectations.

Very easy to assemble. The instructions were really clear and the parts easily packaged so you know which screws are needed for each step.

When it comes to putting the tension wire on it did initially appear to not reach to the top of the metal “platform”, but a bit of a pull and it goes on easily.

The bike itself is very sturdy and the seat is comfortable. I’m about 5ft10 and very heavy so I was a bit worried it would wobble or something but it doesn’t.

I am not very fit and am still at the beginning of my weight loss journey but even I can very easily do 15-20 miles on this bike.

The tension is decent. Of course it won’t be “gym” quality for the price but you can definitely feel the tension change between the levels.

I think this product is great value and I look forward to using it even more. Definitely recommend.

First Sunny Health & Fitness is based in Southern CA and has excellent customer support, website, and their own fitness app. I bought the bike since it is sometimes to hot in SWFL.

The bike is easy to put together, well constructed, comfortable, and works well. It comes with the monitor, but I use the SunnyFit app to track all my data. In researching exercise bikes, this was the best constructed and had the best features than all the other bikes in the same price range.

Sunny Health & Fitness is one of the few companies that has their own app for their products. This is a real plus since it tracks your calories, fitness data, and also provides workouts, courses, world tours, challenges, and fitness plans.

I also have the Sunny smart scale, so besides tracking my calories, I can track my weight.

The courses are great to help you understand how to really use your bike more effectively and how to use the tension. And the world tours are fun when you just want to bike and look at beautiful scenery.

Besides purchasing this exercise bike, I would recommend also purchasing the Sunny smart scale.

And when you are not biking and just want to take a walk or hike, I would recommend purchasing the Sunny Heart Rate Monitor Armband. This is more accurate then my smart watch, and when used the Sunny phone app, you can track your walk/hike using the GPS in your phone giving you a map, steps/miles (distance), calories.

    In making a purchase such as an exercise bike, the company that you purchase from is very important. When researching exercise bikes on Amazon, I contacted the other companies customer support and their support were terrible compared to Sunny. Sunny support helps me get the right bike model for me and after receiving the bike, helped me answer my questions during the install process. Also, Sunny support is in the US (Southern CA), most of the other companies are not in the US;
