I received this bike on March 29 so I’m on my fourth week of using it. I exercise on it for six days weekly for no less than 30 minutes. I did a lot of research and I ultimately kept coming back to this bike. I like that’s it’s a substantial bike for the price point. My review of this bike is coming from someone who used to be a fitness instructor and has taken many spin classes. While this isn’t a spin bike, I can at least give a comparison of it to a spin bike.
In reading some of the reviews, it looks like people are trying to put this bike in a category of a spin bike. It’s unfair to compare it to a more expensive bike meant for spinning. This is not a heavy duty spin bike. However, I have found the tension to be similar to spin bikes that I have used in spin classes. It has a nice gradual increase with each knob click that very much simulates riding a bike outside. The two highest tension speeds are challenging and will get your heart rate up.
I am currently unemployed and living with someone. My exercise equipment is a bit bulky so it’s in storage. I knew I needed to purchase something to get my body moving again and this was the perfect purchase. I put on my headphones and watch something on my Ipad or I move the bike in front of the television and before I even realize it, I’ve been on it for an hour. This is a great bike if you want to get moving again or even want something to supplement your current exercise routine. I love that it can go from an incumbent to an upright bike and that it does foldaway quite nicely. Even once I’m able to move into my own home, I will still have this as part of my home gym. It is portable so I can move it to the living room and burn calories while watching television. I like to start out on a low speed, increase it a bit, then turn it to the highest tension level and stay there for several minutes, then knock it back down again, do that once more, then finish my ride on the tension level of six or seven. The point of mentioning this is you can get a good workout by playing around with speed and increasing the intensity of cadence or pedaling.
If you are really tall, this bike is not for you. I am 5’9 and I have long legs instead of a long torso, I don’t think someone taller than me would be too comfortable on the bike unless it’s used in the incumbent position only.
The bike was super easy to put together. I did it myself in about an hour but I also worked very slowly. This bike is a great tool to get your body moving and to supplement an existing exercise program. It is an excellent price, it’s sturdy for the type of bike class that it represents and the seat is very comfortable. If you are looking for a spin bike, I highly recommend doing your research and getting a bike meant for that type of riding.

Great bike for the price! It is sturdy, comfortable, and fairly easy to assemble. It took me about an hour to put it together, but I wasn’t in a rush and read the instructions thoroughly. I recommend putting it together on carpet or a sheet so it doesn’t slide around while tightening bolts. I’ve used it every day for about three weeks, and I am quite impressed by it. The side bars are surprisingly useful, as is the water bottle holder on the back of the seat. So far, everything works well, and is super quiet. Also, it doesn’t take up much space, which is awesome for apartment living. If you want a bike with really high resistance, this might not be the bike for you. I switch between 7 and 8 (out of 10) for resistance and am happy with it. I bought it because I’m looking to get in better shape and enjoy my workouts. This bike is definitely helping achieve both goals 🙂

I am thrilled with my decision to purchase the SF-B2721 Comfort XL Folding Recumbent Bike by Sunny Health and Fitness, and plan to keep up my weight loss (I’m working on it – have lost 37 just prior to getting this bike) while strengthening my legs! I am an avid Amazon shopper and have not been asked to do this review. I just wanted to reach out to handicapped, obese and/or elderly people like me that have no idea what to buy when shopping for an exercise bike on a small budget.
I am trying to figure out why there is only one review on this gem. Come on folks – it’s adjustable from an upright bike to a semi-recumbent bike (a bike you can sort of lean back in) – where else can you get this, especially at this price? So, I am also going to lay out (among other things) my physical status out below, much to my embarrassment, so that you can easily determine whether this is the bike for you.
Assembly: EASY. My husband helped hold the frame while I put the stand on both feet/stands. I didn’t need him after that. I did the whole thing myself. Just follow the instructions. Probably took me 45 minutes but I was just relaxing and taking my time, the whole time sitting comfortably on my sofa. NOTE: I did not attach the handles/grips that attach around the seat. My butt is much bigger than the seat and I knew that would just be in the way – that I would probably be sitting ON those side bars. If I ever shrink to a small enough size, I will add it the way it was intended to be used.
Mounting the bike: First off, I am somewhere between 5’3 and 5’4” tall. I have a short inseam, probably like 26”, maybe less. I am a 64 year old female who is 250 lbs, who has had TWO full knee replacements. I never did adequate rehab after my surgeries so I have a terrible range of motion in both knees. I cannot lift my leg over the frame to get onto the bike without assistance, but I don’t mean from my husband. I figured out that if I place the back of a chair close to the bike and brace myself on it, I can swing my right leg up high enough to get onto the bike with minimal effort. Once I’m up there, I’m good to go. Also, it has a 300 lb. weight limit, and it feels pretty darn solid. I don’t feel like it’s going to tip over when mounting.
Performance: The bike is QUIET. Both the manual controls and the digital monitor are uncomplicated. I am very comfortable cycling on this machine, even with my poor range of motion. Pedaling is extremely smooth and easy.
Comfort: I haven’t used it long enough (just got it yesterday 4/19/18) to know how comfortable the seat is yet. I did purchase the only gel seat cover on Amazon that looks to have the exact same shape and it was expensive. I purchased it just in case the seat starts feeling hard after several minutes. Will update this review regarding fit and comfort enhancement level once I receive it. Update on seat cover. A bit larger than the seat but matches shape of seat perfectly and the fact that you tighten it with the cord allows you to make it so tight that it stays exactly where you want it. It is not overly large for the seat. Highly recommend. Size and weight: Unbelievably lightweight (38 lbs) and has a very small overall footprint! We have a tiny apartment and I dreaded the thought of having to lug it into the bedroom if and when company came over. Ha! It’s so light that I can move it myself without even using the front wheels. I have a herniated disc in my back so that’s saying a lot. It looks cool because it takes up such a small space in our living room (faced toward the TV of course!). I have not folded it up yet for any type of storage but I doubt that I will store it much. The whole point is to keep it in my face to remind me to actually use it.
Just get it. Can’t beat it.
Update: Used a few times now and it’s just perfect.
