My dad was a huge fan of takamine guitars. Apparently grand ole opry performers like them and that was good enough for him. I decided to take up playing and this guitar has been such a pleasure. The sound is sweet. Perfect size for a small adult. The action is good so fretting doesn’t hurt. Love how it looks. I’ve gotten many compliments. Very good value.

Iโ€™ve been playing the guitar on and off for some years but recently have decided to be serious again. My budget was $200, and I got this gem for around $180 (with tax) Like New through Amazon Warehouse – I donโ€™t think you can get that good a price for a guitar of this calibre anywhere. The D string was missing, but I was going to restring it anyway; throw in other accessories I got from Amazon (gig bag, guitar stand, support, capo, foot stool) and I have the total package for around $300 – still $130 cheaper than this guitar alone at full price.

Ignore the โ€œmade in Chinaโ€ label – this instrument is well made with quality materials and delivers such a pleasing sound. I love the black walnut back and gold machine heads! Iโ€™m ready to embark on my guitar journey again, and I hope one day I can play my favourite classical and bossa nova pieces fluently with it.

I recently purchased another brand off Amazon that was a “good deal.” I have been a musician long enough to know that there are certain things you don’t cheap out on. Your instrument is one of them. I have wanted a classical guitar for as long as I can remember but have been making due with my steel string Yamaha. When I received my new guitar I really wanted to like it but it was a complete Monet, beautiful from a distance but up close a big ole mess. So I returned it. And got this.

This a beautiful looking guitar made by a great brand. I just wanted to look at it for a while. Then, I played it. It sounds better than it looks. It sounds like a well made classical guitar should sound. Even my wife comments on the sound and that is when I am practicing scales and arpeggios.

I noticed this guitar doesn’t have many reviews. It is not inexpensive enough for mass sale on Amazon but not expensive enough to be noticed by the real snobs. All I can say is this: this is a beautiful guitar that is a REAL value for the money. Nobody will guess that you paid under $2k for it when you play it well.

Well done Takamine (pronounced Tahk-ah-mee-nay). There is a reason you have the rep you have, well deserved.

Beautifully made guitar. Great value for the price. I needed a good practice guitar and was pleasantly surprised. This is a really great instrument that responds and gives back everything that you put into it. The bass is tight and warm, and the trebles are bright and expressive. I don'[t know how they do it for less than $400.

When playing the A string, there was a significant buzz on the first 5 frets, presumably from touching the next fret up. The action was not very low, in fact I would have lowered it if I kept it. As it was, I tuned it, played it for a while, then put it back in the packaging. I’ll admit that the tone was nice on the other strings, but disappointed and annoyed to have to return after finally deciding on a classical guitar. I’m a 50+ year player.

I first bought a Cordoba, I did not like the sound or the guitar. I sent it back (was easy to return a product with Amazon) I got the Takamine and got the Rosewood with cost a little more but I am VERY happy with it’s sound, feel quality……I would recommend it to anyone at any level of musicianship
