Beautiful looking set. The bass drum beater is about 2/3 up the batter head of the 18 inch bass drum. Could use a riser, but works well enough without. Tom’s tuned low have. Lot of punch. Snare has plenty of snap. The bass drum has a lot of punch but you can’t bury the beater. If you back off it actually comes across much bigger than it actually is.

I would really like a second Tom Tom to match. The snare may not be the best in the world. I changed out all the heads except for the bass drum. With all that being said, I enjoy playing the heck out of this kit.

I’ve played in a country band for quite a while, and hauling around a drum kit is one of the worst parts of travel and set-up. I didn’t want to sacrifice sound for convenience, so I looked around for smaller club sized kits, and I settled on this one. I like Tama, and I love the color of the turquoise and wood.
I’ve had it for a few months now, and I would say that this is a great drum-set at the price. It’s so fun to play on, and the broken down set-up, is exactly what I was looking for. I replaced the heads on the snare and toms, and it sounds great.
If you’re looking for a starter kit, this would put you miles ahead of any other kit labeled as a starter. Just realize that you have to buy the hardware to go along with it if you don’t already have it. Cymbal stands, kick pedal, throne…that sort of thing.

I’m a professional musician and love this little kit. If your a beginner or pro, this kit has wonderful potential. It will need higher quality heads and some time finding the tuning you like, but for the money it’s a great little kit. The Aqua Blue is my favorite wrap and I love the cymbal arm attached to the bass drum (mine does not rattle). The snare is OK but I’d use it as a side snare with a tighter tuning using a single ply head; as for toms I also use single ply heads and the bass drum I’d use either a single ply clear or coated for the batter side. I’m still using the logo resonant head which is a bit thicker. The only criticism I have is I’d like the floor tom shell to be about 2” deeper because it doesn’t sound great tuned low. But for the music I’m playing with it the dimensions work. Other than that, this is a good kit for niche music or a beginner to learn on.

THIS KIT IS INCREDIBLE!! WOW TAMA!! It’s easy to tune, sounds amazing when i put new heads on!! all i did was change the batter heads tune it up a bit and it sounds incredible!! bass drum sounds as big as a standard size!! all i did was put a Remo Controlled Sound Snare Head, and Remo Emperor Vintages on the Toms, and a Remo Powerstroke 3 Black Dot on the batter side of Bass drum!

This is an incomplete set. Does not come with symbols, kick pedal or stool. False advertising!!!!! So disappointed… sending back!

Excellent little kit for a small space. I’m enjoying practice without giving up an lot of space in my house. I bought drum mute pads so the neighbors don’t get bothered. You will need to buy a few stands and cymbals to make it a complete kit.
