Tao Clean UV Sanitizing Sonic Toothbrush, Rose Gold

The positive reviews concerning the distinctive clean feel even after the first use are all true. As a matter of fact, almost all positive reviews on this item are somewhat accurate. I would like to focus on the details that I searched for and couldn’t find on reviews both written or in video format. They may seem like “cons” but I must add that for me they were not deal breakers. Instead I’d like to think of them as constructive criticism, since they are details that I would like to see on later generations of this item.

Cable management: It is difficult to tell the power source and cable situation from all the photos and videos online, which are edited for aesthetic purposes.

I kind of knew what the set up would be from previous experiences with other electronic devices so I knew what to expect. However, for those who are expecting the same sleek, cable-free look from the photos online please take note that if your bathroom has power outlets above the sink area, like most homes in america, there will be a cable bunch up on your countertop. Even if the cable is wound up and tied together, it may still be an atrocious sight for that OCD gem in your home, who probably spends a lot of time at the sink.

Power Adaptor: Once plugged in, the power adaptor sticks out over three and a quarter inches from the power outlet, yet another design flaw. With the amount of compact usb adaptors available this shouldn’t be difficult to correct since the company would only need to replace one part.

Power adaptor plug: The placement of the power socket on the base station is a bit awkward and creates a distance of about two and a half inches from the wall or backsplash. I have similar electronics with the power socket located below the item, which makes for a neater appearance and freedom to push the item flush to the wall when necessary.

Other small details that the shopper should be aware of is the size of the item and color of the brush handle. Please take a closer look and notice that the brush handle is two toned. I think it looks good but, anyone expecting it to be solid white will be thoroughly disappointed.
Also, please double check the dimensions of this item and know that it is not a compact design. Definitely not for a countertop where space is at a premium.

With all that being said…or typed; I would like to reiterate that all these may seem like “cons” but they really are small details that everyone should know to ensure that they are completely happy with their purchase upon receipt.

So, In conclusion this item would be perfect if it was a bit more compact, and the cable/power adaptor issue was resolved. With the portable power core technology available now a days I don’t see why we shouldn’t expect a wireless base station that could hold a charge for a few days in the near future.

This is the perfect toothbrush, it checks all the boxes!

1. The brush head is one seamless piece. No holes, no crevices, no grooves. Nothing that’s going to trap bacteria and gunk that will end up in your mouth next time you brush. Compare for yourself and see that other brands brush heads have a small hole on either side or a groove around the base that creates a nice home for bacteria.

2. The UV Sanitizing base! The toothbrush is stored upside down and is enclosed by the base. This allows the brush to dry without any moisture dripping down and getting on the handle. The brush is protected by the base, keeping airborne bacteria off. It is sanitized by the UV light after each use, leaving you with a clean dry brush for the next time.

3. Lastly, this thing is powerful! It takes some getting used to. But my teeth have never been cleaner. I drink coffee almost daily and this toothbrush has removed all surface stains. It keeps my teeth looking like they have recently been professionally cleaned!

The only draw back in my opinion is the price of the replacement heads. 3 for $25… I’d like to get 4 for that price.

We decided to try this toothbrush instead of our sonicare that we have been using for years. So far so good. We’ll see what the dentist has to say but we like them!

Okay I want to start of by saying
1. I am a very clean person…to a fault…just ask my husband.
2. We both floss daily, use mouthwash, and brush 2-3 times per day. We both get cleanings at least twice a year and have zero fillings.

These toothbrushes are disgusting. After receiving mine (purchased after they were recommended by a blogger), I realized it was growing mold, even after I thoroughly rinse it after each use and shake it dry. Literally, each time I went to use it, it was moldy. The sanitizing feature didn’t seem to be working, so I assumed that was the problem. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement. The new one started doing the same thing right away – literally after the first use and the sanitizer feature was working. My husband also has the same toothbrush and is having all the same disgusting problems. We rinsed it after each use, tried soak it in peroxide, changed out the brush heads after just a week or two, and it kept happening. We have discontinued use. Save your money and stick with Sonicare or Oral-B if you want an electric toothbrush. I regret not keeping ours, but will be purchasing.

Aside from all the mold, the brush heads are constantly popping off, the “sanitizers” are bulky, and the charger sticks out from the wall several inches.
