I finally had the opportunity to plug this guy in yesterday and it was a pretty awesome surprise. I’ve been using the Boss TU-2 for the last 10 years and I thought, how much better can a tuner pedal really get? As described, the brightness on this pedal is amazing and super easy to see. The tuning function is a massive improvement as well – the polytune function is also kind of amazing. The reason I purchased this pedal is because I have a number of gigs coming up and if you play out a lot you know sometimes temperature and other factors can affect tuning. Nothing is worse than when a string drops out of tune and you need to avoid using that string until a break in the song. With the Polytune 2, you can quickly pop it on and strum all the strings and see exactly which string is out of tune and make the quick fix to get back in the song and keep playing. Super valuable investment!

I have two pedals from TC Electronic so far, and I’ll surely buy more. This tuner is great. It’s fast, accurate, and bright enough to use in full daylight. It also eats up very little space on my pedalboard. All of their pedals are built like tanks. And I’ve never had one fail. I mostly tune one string at a time, but the ability to quickly check the tuning by hitting all six at once is nice. It works just as well on my basses. It goes into silent mode automatically when you tune, which is nice for everyone. I’ve never owned or used a tuner that I liked better.

ME ENCANTAN LOS PEDALES DE TC ELCTRONIC, LA FUNCION POLIFONICA DE ESTE PEDAL, RECONOCE LAS CUERDAS MUY RAPIDO Y NO LAS CONFUNDE COSA QUE PASACON OTROS PEDALES QUE SE TARDAN O CONFUNDEN LAS NOTAS.. OTRA FUNCION ES QUE AL ACTIVARLO MUTEA LA GUITARRA, EN ESCENARIO ES SUPER UTIL Y LOS LED SON MUY INTENSOS

Love this tuner. Super easy to use, bright screen for on stage. Quick and accurate tuning without taking up too much real estate on your board.

Like the title says, this is a great tuner and there is little else to be said. If you were wondering, version 2 is the same as version 3 but doesn’t have a buffer. Other than that it gives you a fast and bright readout with lots of options like alternate tunings and reference pitch from A 435 – A 445.

BUY IT! This tuner is simply even better than I thought it would be.
1st off, the price is bang on. But don’t be fooled into thinking it’s made cheaply. This tuner is as tough as nails & the moment you take it out the box it’s obvious that quality was not jeopardized in production & it was built to last. The accuracy of this tuner is unreal. In the “strobe” mode, literally, and i’m not exaggerating here, made my guitar sound like something I’d never heard before, it gave me goosebumps!
The display is great, it’s visible from meters away & so easy to read, you can see this tuner has been made with the fact in mind that real people are going to be using them, making it super simple & super easy to tune.
It’s well priced, well made & so damn accurate. The fact that it’s packed with so many variants of tuning & the polyphonic, needle & strobe modes… You will not regret buying this. It’s perfect & it will blow your mind.
I don’t work for TC, I’m just an incredibly satisfied & happy customer. Really great product!

Yes, it does alternate tunings and can display all 6 strings at once in those tunings. My band plays down a half step. No problem.
I mention this right up front because I didn’t realize this tuner could do that for a long time after I owned it. It speeds tuning quite a bit and that’s always helpful on stage (or at home).
PROs
=====
* Cheaper than a Boss TU-2 by about $20, reasonably priced
* Tunes all 6 strings at once
* accurate tuning
* “Best” form factor – not too large, not too small
* 9V standard power supply, and jack is on the rear vertical surface which I think is most optimal.
* input and output jacks are on the right and left, which I think is the most optimal location.
* tunes guitars or bass in strobe mode, or needle mode, or “poly” mode i.e. all 6 strings at once
* good build quality
* available in mini format, for those who like that. I don’t care for it but some do.
* available in a clip on format also, I haven’t tried that.
CONs
=====
* Honestly the only negative I can think of on this tuner is that the display can be a little hard to see in sunlight. My recollection is the Boss is a little more visible in bright sunlight. So if you play a lot of afternoon outdoor gigs, that may be a consideration.

A really great tuner for guitar and bass. Does what it is supposed to and does it accurately. Supports a whole variety of altenate tunings — see the manual for details.

I have the mini-pedal version. Yes, it’s bright. Yes, the display is clear and really easy to discern, even for us old guys with not so good eye-site. Much better than my old Boss TU-2 tuner (which itself is darn good). I love the automatic strum tuning feature – strum your guitar and see all six strings at once, then tune only the strings which are out of tune. No switching is needed, the device is smart enough to tell when you are tuning one string or strumming them all. The pedal is very accurate and also sensitive. You know what I mean – I hate a pedal where you repeatedly overshoot and undershoot the correct tuning – despite having quality tuning keys in good condition. This pedal also works just fine with my bass guitar. It’s nice looking and the build quality looks great. The pedal is dead quiet in tuning mode, so I also use it when I need to totally mute my instrument.

A very good tuner. I bought a tuner for like 25 bucks here on Amazon, I liked it but it stopped working after 2 weeks. Decided to purchase this one. They gave me a discount at checkout which I wasn’t expecting.
The tuner works very well, and is solidly constructed. Foot switch is nice and quiet, and the response is quick. The different tuning modes like capo 1-7 and the drop tunings are only useful for polyphonic tuning. I mean it’s a chromatic tuner; does not give you target notes for alternate tunings. The poly tuning is only useful, but still cool, for a snapshot of what strings might be more than a little bit out of tune. The strobe tune option is interesting and seems to work ok but I prefer the regular needle mode. The display is eye candy.
Buy it.
