“I realized, maybe too late, that being independent doesn’t have to mean being alone.”

I dove into this book expecting a typical holiday story, but the author completely surprised me. Kira isn’t the picture-perfect protagonist—she’s a little grumpy, a little guarded, and after a lifetime with her sister by her side, she’s thrown herself into an adventure she’s not quite sure she can handle alone. Then there’s Bennett, who’s made his own mistakes and isn’t eager to repeat them, despite his natural “rescuer” instinct. But somehow, they both find a way to set aside their fears and move forward together.

I absolutely loved Jeanie, Iris, and all the other friends who welcomed Kira and helped her see that being independent doesn’t mean you can’t ask for help—and that sometimes, asking for help is a sign of maturity, a way of recognizing that some things just aren’t possible alone.

5 (spicy) stars for a story that warms your heart like a cozy fireplace on Christmas Eve.

A wonderful story that delivers exactly what it promises. A delightful cosy read for when you just need a pick-me-up from life, or love – or both.

Is it the most innovative story or a great piece of literature? Certainly not, but it never claimed to be, nor would anyone in the right state of mind expect it to be.

It’s a cosy, swoony, very romantic comfort read for the holiday season, or winter, or just whenever you need one. Not without a few challenges, but overall it delivers a perfectly cosy romcom that’s more rom than com.

Despite being part of a series the book can be read as a standalone.

Bennett is a doll and is so lovable. He has a bright shiny personality and it makes sense cuz he’s Jeanie’s brother. Kira is currently being known as the town grump. She’s new to Dream Harbor and hasn’t been very receptive to the towns people welcoming her. Until she meets Ben. The two of them are immediately drawn to each other but he’s only visiting. So what does that mean for them?

This book is perfection! The spice is amazing and the plot is so cute! Well written like the others and so hard to put down.

It has been a while since a book made my cry. This one had me sobbing!
The lies we tell ourselves are often stronger than the truth. They worm their way into our hearts and our minds until they are all we see, all we believe.
Bennett seemed like such a cocky but sweet guy hearing about him from Jeanies’ perspective in Pumpkin Spice Cafe, but he is a complete golden retriever. Not just a people pleaser, he has a heart of gold, and if he cares about you, he cares for you even if it breaks him. He comes to Dream Harbor to visit his sister and meets Kira, the new owner of the Christmas Tree Farm. Kira’s icy personality and quick-witted attitude don’t fool Bennett or his dogs for one minute.
They are both guarding their hearts but have their happy ending.
The sweetness, banter, spice, and heartwarming moments were adorable!
The scene at the end with the letters and tree made me burst into tears.
    Loved this story!

This books series is pretty cute! I do think pumpkin spice cafe was the superior book in the series, but this Christmas one was okay. I’d give it a 3.7 stars. It’s cute and super quick to read but don’t love the background that she gives the main female character.

I appreciate the map of this small town at the beginning of the book and the playlist. Kira hates Christmas but buys a Christmas tree farm. She may be a grumpy Grinch woman, but she does love dogs. Also, her plans with this depilated farmhouse, Christmas tree farm, and dilapidated barn didn’t quite go according to what she wanted. Of course, the man with the dogs Kira takes an instant hate to is Bennett. You would know him if you read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe.

Bennett is a big-city computer guy with a hero complex. But he wins vacation for the holiday and visits his sister in Dream Harbor. This small town is a riot. The role reversal in this book is intriguing, with her being the grumpy curmudgeon and him being the sunshine fixer.

It doesn’t seem like Kira is looking for love, as she keeps putting him in the friend zone. However, Bennett’s cinnamon roll interior can’t help itself in every interaction with her, even though he is also trying to reinvent himself. This book is slow-moving in terms of intimacy and relationship.

Ah, so the winter storms caused the forced proximity. Nothing like a cozy fireplace, a cuddly blanket fort, and a little steamy encounter in the living room. Now that they have gone from friends to lovers, the story hits the winter and holiday vibes.

This story ended sweetly, and they both got their Christmas wishes granted and found exactly what they were looking for and more. I love the opposites attract romance in the storyline with a side of banter and winter/holiday vibes. This book was very Hallmark holiday movie-like and will get you in the mood for the holiday season.

This is a cute story. It was nice to see the characters develop on their own as well as together.

While Kira and Bennett were great together they nigh loved each other enough to make sure they were in good spots individually first.

It was a cute Christmas story for the holiday season

It was wonderful to be back in Dream Harbor again and I absolutely loved Kira and Bennett’s story. Each book in this series has been five stars for me! I especially love that each book is unique to each couple but the themes of found family, friendship, support and encouragement remain in all three of them. Kira and Bennett’s story was wonderful and I loved escaping back into Dream Harbor for another great book. Can’t wait to read more in this series!
