A bit of background, I am the PC support person for my small firm and an EE, and I install perhaps 5~10 of these any year to replace blow units as needed. This is a bit of an odd bird. As an overall unit is seems well built and has all the normal features and good MTBF numbers. The shrink wrapped back look is pretty, but to me not a factor. More important (and annoying) is that they have used two wires to daisy chain with every molex crimp and plug and this tends to make the pins in the actual connector skew odd at odd angles (in practical terms it is quite hard to insert these plugs the first time). They also chose to use a plug style with annoying “fins” in each plug that, while they do not get in the way with seating or insertion, make working in a tight dusty space annoying. The form factor is slightly longer then the std ATX case size, which will still fit (and the mounting holes are correct) but if you have a fan opening at the top of your chassis it may intrude into that space (I had to relocate the fan on this one). The retail style box comes with a power cord and screws, which may be a cost adder to some seeking an OEM part. I am hoping that the promised MTBF will mean I never have work on the particular PC again (as the last power supply in it was a budget model that only lasted ~6 months). I don’t have a history with it yet, but if you can overcome the slight installation annoyances, it seems like a winner.

Just received this PSU Thermaltake TR2-600W Amazon free delivery has been blazing fast and careful with UPS. Widely varying reports about this product are a bit bewildering Here is a piece of explanation. There are actually two Thermaltake TR2-600W PSUs on the market, so, carefully read the small print before you buy. This one is the older model TR2-600NL2NC. Among its shortcomings are no active PFCl, 72% power efficiency and noise level up to some 32 dB at high throttle; on the other hand, it features 5-yr manufacturer warranty. You may choose instead the newer TR2-600AH2NFB; it features active PFCl, boasts japanese capacitors, 80 plus bronze rated (up to 88% power efficiency) and a noise level about 10 dB lower than the older model. More up-to-date tech, more power and security control devices, more quality standards. It costs about 25 dollars more, but you probably get more of a PSU in return. Surprisingly, however, its Thermaltake Warranty is only 3-yr. I give the product a four star anyway, for low price, fast amazon free delivery and 5-yr warranty

These are one of the best PSU’s you can purchase on a budget. I own this one and the 500w for a media center and they can handle all the tasks I ask of them. They have more than enough plugs for the average and probably semi-advanced computer user. It does use a dual rail +12, personally I use single in my main computer but I have yet to have any hiccups or doubts that this PSU would let me down.

    I highly recommend this product!

I was a little curious because of the past history of reviews from this product however during the covid-19 crisis I was deciding to build a PC because I could not go to work during this time I was hoe it was very hard for me to find any power supplies I came across the thermaltake to tr2 600w. I only needed about 450 however I felt more comfortable by being a little bit more this was just crazy with the amount of value that I bought this for and it was a great deal because technically I was getting charged 450 watt prices for a 600 watt power supply that was amazing I’m so glad I found the deal thermaltake has been around for quite a while however they do make some okay not so great products however I am impressed by this I have really no issues with this the cable where’s all correct they give you guys just enough even to hook up an old floppy disk the cable that came with Dad as well the tables are ketchup and mustard if it was anything that I could say bad is just please change the colors of the cables in case people don’t have money to go and spend for a new PSU braided cables other than that these were great that’s fit in perfectly I am looking forward to getting the new RTX 30 series gpus and I believe I’ll be able to still use my thermaltake tr2 600 for the new 30 series so like I said this is a great product I have not ran into nothing it is not that loud it’s very quiet the fan underneath collects a lot of dust however I have a great dust filter so it doesn’t do the job it’s a very good solid piece of Steel that they use and this is great my first power supply ever I wasn’t trying to go name brand because I didn’t have that type of money but for the amount that I spent I spent technically the value of a 450 watt power supply for a 600 watt power supply so you guys are getting a great deal here if you have any questions feel free to ask on the glad to help other than that I’m going to try to give you guys a best picture of the back my basement is covered on my PC build so I can’t really show you the whole thing

The original psu was a 350w dual 12v rail and it was all ready under powering my rig then when I added more fans, it labored the psu causing the computer to run slower and eventually burned out the psu. I need a a fairly good psu but couldn’t afford the high prices of a corsar unit which in my book is the best you can get. I searched around different sites and I came back to AMAZON. I only had a buget of $60.00. So I looked at different brands, some names i didn’t know so i skipped them than I can across Thermaltake ( a name knew well). I needed a minamium of 500 watts for $40.00 and I found this Unit with in my budget. It arrive on time and Boy was i a happy camper ( Like a kid at christmas) anyways, I installed it and when they say “wire Management” They are not kidding. I like the fact that the wire harness is long so you can make a clean install. Since I had this Psu, My rig has been running allot better since now it is not “starving” for power in fact it has plenty of power in reserve. I am a advid computer builder and i HIGHLY recommend this psu for you rig either older or as a new build. It has dual 12v rails and it is a no brainer. Thanks Amazon!!!

    Cons: None
Pros: Light weight, well built, Big fan, Nice Casing.
