Yes, it was more expensive. It is heavy duty & works well. Storage bag is a nice touch and I use it.

This thing is built to last. Sturdy. Intuitive. Just great. Just redid my bike on it. Felt like I was a pro. Could also be used as a tripod for cameras. It’s that nice.

Update: 1/17/2023: I just built my 7th bike on this. My first hardtail. I forgot when I changed the battery last in the digital scale. It’s been in there for years. I don’t use it often, but I’m pretty sure I’ve only changed the battery maybe once in the entire time I’ve owned this stand (16 years).
I’ve built 6 bikes on this stand and serviced every bike I’ve owned since 2007 with this thing. I take it on trips with me and to races. Everything has been flawless since the day I owned it. This is possibly the most reliable bike-related purchase I’ve ever made in my life and will ever make.

Five years ago I bought a clone of this stand when it being sold by Performance Bike rebranded as the “Spin Doctor Pro G3”. Also added the digital scale a bit later. It’s been a great stand, but if I could make one change I would add a fourth leg. With three legs you have to be very mindful of having one leg pointed in the same direction as the arm when the weight of a bike is on it or you have a tippy affair. It’s never fallen completely over on me, but I’ve had a few close calls. If I ever replace it, next time out I’ll look for a four leg design, or a leaning two leg. The two leg stands have the advantage of a smaller footprint, with the drawback of not being able to just spin your work around.

From a former bike mechanic, I prefer Topeak’s innovation over Park any day.
