These can go anywhere, but I recommend you PLUG them into an existing Ethernet network. This is to make wireless coverage seamless, not to simply avoid the wired network altogether, although you CAN do that…. just plug it in and let WiFi 6E connect the devices to each other. We haven’t tried that because we don’t have to.

Some reviewers noted that the 802.11r routing protocol isn’t as it should be. I can’t say that for certain, but … we have a LOT of interference on the 802.11N band… 2.4Ghz. Neighbors… not sure what system they have, but it causes interference. This is between channel 2 and 7 on the 2.4Ghz band. Haven’t been able to get it to be stable, but I can click the “optimize” button and reconfigure – the system switches the band between the 2 channels. This causes small blips, and I’ve noticed that when switching between MESH devices – we have one in the center of the basement and the other in the center…sorta…of the 2nd floor – that a device…cell phone, iPad… can fall off the network, and it can take 10-20 seconds to reconnect.

Is it perfect? Nope. It’s MUCH better than the multi-radio single router/access point we used to have. Maybe WiFi 7 will help in the future..not sure. Right not, when it’s working, there’s significantly more stability, especially for our kitchen WiFi LED strip controllers, which were being bumped again by the neighbor’s WiFi activity near our shared wall. Weird, but… this HELPS!

Changing the position of an access point can affect things, so… play around with it. Reconfiguring/scanning for interference works, even though it’s annoying. The ONLY interference issues we’ve had, are on the 2.4Ghz band. 5G is perfect…no problems. We could have set up 3 devices, but our home may actually be too small even for the 2 devices – we have maybe… 1300 sq/ft, and this covers…at least 6,000 or 7,000, I think.

Firmware updates are fast and easy. Configuration options are simplistic. Navigating to the advanced sections was… slightly difficult, but once I got there, the rest is easy. The app does much more than the web-interface – you can’t do much of anything by logging in via the web.

Rebooting a device, or the system, takes several minutes.

I may update this after a year or so. It’s been in place just a few months. It wasn’t expensive, and the performance seems decent.

I needed something to replace my Starlink Router due to range limits. This Deco system was the perfect fit! It was very simple to setup and I really like the app that it comes with. The extra Decos automatically connect to the main one once you get the main one connected to ISP. They also work very well with the TP-Link Smart Home equipment, which I have many of.

My only complaint is that each unit only has 1 2.5ghz ethernet so my input line from my ISP is using it and Im having to use a 1ghz output to connect to my computer so obviously Im not getting the best speeds that I could be.

I recently upgraded to the TP-Link Deco AXE4900 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Mesh System (Deco XE70 Pro), and it has been great for my home network. This 2024 release takes advantage of the latest Wi-Fi 6E technology, and the results have been impressive across the board.

    Performance and Speed:
With speeds up to 4.9 Gbps and coverage extending to 7,200 square feet, this system provides seamless and robust connectivity throughout my home. I installed the units about 80 feet apart, with a wall or two between them, and even with this distance, I still maintain full speed throughout the house. The signal remains strong in traditionally weaker areas like the backyard, front yard, and garage. Even at the farthest distance of about 120 feet from the main unit, the system still maintains around half the speed and strong signal strength, which is impressive.

    Device Connectivity:
I currently have about 120 devices connected to this system, including smart home gadgets, phones, laptops, and gaming consoles, and it still performs exceptionally well. There’s no noticeable drop in performance, even with multiple devices actively using the network at the same time.

    Mesh Coverage:
The three-pack setup of the Deco AXE4900 is ideal for large homes, offering complete coverage in every room and beyond. The mesh network ensures a strong signal no matter where I am in the house, and the transition between nodes is seamless—there’s no lag or disconnection during movement.

    2.5G WAN/LAN Ports:
One of the best features is the 2.5G WAN/LAN ports, which support high-speed internet connections and ensure ultra-fast wired speeds for gaming, streaming, or other bandwidth-intensive activities. This is a big upgrade from the standard gigabit ports, providing top speeds to wired devices.

    Easy Setup and Management:
The setup process was incredibly simple. The Deco app guided me through it, and everything was up and running within minutes. The app also offers great management features like parental controls, security settings, and network diagnostics. I can even prioritize devices and set schedules, which helps manage internet usage in our household.

    Stability and Reliability:
The Deco XE70 Pro has been rock solid in terms of stability. I haven’t experienced any drops or disruptions, even with heavy usage. Whether I’m streaming in 4K or gaming online, the system handles it smoothly without any issues.

    6 GHz Band:
The new 6 GHz band is a fantastic addition. It’s perfect for devices that support Wi-Fi 6E, offering faster speeds and less interference. This band is a game-changer for newer devices like laptops and phones, providing them with a dedicated high-speed connection.

    Design and Build:
The design of the Deco units is sleek and modern. They’re compact and blend seamlessly into the home decor. Each unit is small but powerful, and they fit discreetly around the house without taking up much space.

    Conclusion:
Overall, the TP-Link Deco AXE4900 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Mesh System is a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their home network. With excellent speeds, expansive coverage, and reliable performance—even at distances up to 120 feet—and the ability to support up to 120 devices, this system is perfect for large homes with many connected devices. The 6 GHz band and 2.5G WAN/LAN ports are huge bonuses, future-proofing the network for years to come. It’s easy to set up, manage, and delivers great value for the price.

Fastest wifi mesh in d market with dedicated wifi6e backhaul. Wifi 6E is beast.
Its better than even expensive deco’s flagship models.
Fetches and gives full modem speed at every corner of house.
My modem gave 650mbps download speed and same speed now i can get at every corner of my house, there is no speed drop between any deco mesh. Connectivity is perfect.
Only remember to buy a separate cat8 lan wire for connecting ur modem to main Deco, as the lan wire provided in their bundle is of cheap quality and can’t transfer above 200mbps.
