I’ve purchased two of these Tripp-Lite surge protector power strips and plan to order a third. So many uses!
    1) One of my hobbies is rock tumbling. This power strip is great for hobbies where you have multiple electronics running (like rock tumblers) and you don’t want to stress the plug and/or it has no on/off switch. You can just use the rocker switch on the power strip to control the power to each rock tumbler. The switches are illuminated when “on” and are dark when “off” so it’s easy to see in a glance what devices you have on or off.
    2) Another use is in a media or A/V cabinet. There’s many devices that need to stay on all the time, while there are other devices that need to be on only when you’re using them. This power strip allows for that flexibility. And again, the rocker switches illuminate when the power for each outlet is “on” and are dark when “off”.
    3) This would make a great charging station for your home or office. Just plug your chargers into the strip, and only turn on the one you’re using to charge. When you’re done, just turn the rocker switch off for that charger. A little more peace of mind while you’re away because you’re not leaving a charger plugged into hot electricity.

I really like this product. I hope they’ll add a longer strip in the future with double the outlets and perhaps a USB port or two.

Buena calidad, me gusta porque puedo apagar contactos individuales y así tener más control en el consumo eléctrico. El cable es de un largo adecuado y se siente bien construido.

I already had one of these Tripp-lite power bars (for a couple of years). In an attempt to control the cable mess that is my desk & workspace, I ordered a second one and things are now improving. These are well-made, durable, and can be fastened under the overhang of a desktop – but to do so hides the switches – so plan your layout carefully. The pricing on the power-bar is high – but, from years of experience, you get what you pay for. It would be useful if the manufacturer would make a similar bar, but with wider-spaced outlets to accommodate “wall warts”.

I originally purchased a pair of these outlet strips in 2018 for use with my television stand: I collect retro videogame consoles and wanted an easy way to connect and disconnect power to everything when not in use without having to just unplug everything and leave cables loose. An outlet strip with individual switches controlling each outlet is the perfect solution to that.

The quality is excellent: the mainbody is is sturdy plastic, the outlets are tight, the switches securely stay in the position they’re left in, and the 6 foot cable is very thick and well protected. Each switch is illuminated when powered to make it easier.

My only complaint toward this product is that the cable can be difficult to manage; It sticks straight out the end of the strip with no included way of running it out of any other side of the strip, and the plug is very bulky. It’s not particularly difficult to compensate for these issues but they are something to be aware of if you’re using this product.

I’ve since purchased another FIVE of these strips for other uses around the house, and will probably purchase another one next time I need a new outlet strip for something. Having a switch controlling each outlet may be unnecessary for some people but it’s an excellent option for easily controlling how your electronics are powered.

The only other products that I would consider for this purpose would be a rack mountable outlet bar, with outlets on the back and switches on the front, however those tend to be more expensive and more difficult to manage in an aesthetic manner.

This is the third one I have purchased, the first in April 2014, the second in December 2015 and now this one June 2019, the first two have been in continuous use, running perfectly, I have no doubt this third one will work just as flawlessly.

I live 100% off grid on a small solar system (not grid tied), we run these from our power inverters into our various rooms to use as our power outlets, it’s nice to be able to turn off each plug individually rather than having to unplug things. Most people aren’t aware of “phantom loads”, this is the electricity that is being used by the various items we tend to leave plugged in, even when said items are turned off, they are draining/using power. For those on the electric grid, this translates into higher electric bills, for those of us who are off grid, relying on solar and batteries, it eats away at the limited amount of power stored in our batteries, it’s like having a leaky faucet, that little bit can really add up over time, especially if it’s coming from multiple sources.

We are upgrading our solar, adding to it, I will have multiple separate solar systems that power different parts of our home, with one of these power strips attached to each separate system. I intend to buy one or two more of these in the near future.

I like that I can control each individual plug, I like that the cord is nice and thick/heavy, the plug itself is good quality. As you can see from the last photo (the one showing it in use), we have essentially mounted that power strip to the wall just under one of our power inverters on our power wall.

I have used a lot of Tripp-Lite products over the years. Generally they are very well built and work well, hard, and long. Customer service on the rare times I’ve needed it has been very good. Generally their products cost more but are well worth the price.

From the description on Amazon.com when I looked at this product, it appeared that there was no way to mount this power strip to a wall or computer desk or whatever. Now that I have one, I can see there is, but read on.

“No mounting method” isn’t a problem with many outlet strips. You don’t usually want to access them often and they just lie on the floor under your desk gathering dust most of the time. This one, however needs to be somewhere convenient so you can reach the switches that are the heart of its purpose. Unless it is screwed or bolted down somehow, with all the power cords going to it, it is going to be very messy and slide around, get tugged around, and generally be a royal pain in the puss.

Back in the good ‘ol days, many power strips had a little tab on each end with a hole in it so you could bolt/screw it down easily. Later they went to a rediculously bad system with slotted holes on the bottom. You had to precisely start screws into a wall (or whatever) then slide the power strip onto the screw heads. Of course there was then no way to tighten the screws so the thing was always loose and unstable. Yep. That is still the same bad system used by this power strip. Here are a few tips to help get it mounted.

    1) Use a legal (8½x14″) piece of paper (or larger) and place it over the back of the power strip. With a pen or pencil, poke holes where the mounting screws go. Now take this template to the place you want to mount the power strip and mark the hole locations with a pencil tip through the holes you just made.

    2) After putting the power strip over the two (#8) screw heads and sliding the strip to latch them into place, screw another screw at the end of the outlet strip to block it from sliding back off the screws. Ugly but it helps. Otherwise the outlet strip WILL slide off it’s mounting hardware sooner or later.

    3) We had to mount one to the underside of a shelf and it was tough going. We just could NOT get the screws to go in straight. We finally mounted the outlet strip to a long narrow piece of wood then screwed the wood and strip to the underside of the shelf. That was much easier to do and worked out just fine. Again ugly, but effective.

Because the outlets are fairly close together, you’re probably going to have some “wall wart” type power boxes blocking adjacent outlets. You can use a 6 inch or 1 foot long power cord extension to enable you to use all the outlets or you can plan ahead to use only some of them and just leave the others idle which is a waste.

So, “HEADS UP TRIPP LITE” Lets improve this device with some way to mount it easily and SECURELY(!) in a convenient position. (a tab on each end with a hole in it would be great!) A bit more spacing between at least some of the outlets would also be nice. Something else that would help would be if some of the outlets were rotated 90 degrees because some of the power plugs (like those for my cell phone and iPod) are much wider than they are deep and would fit in a single outlet space if the outlet was only facing the other way. Finally, some wall wart plugs block the switch. Perhaps the switches should be on the side of the outlet strip instead of on the same face with the outlets? Actually what would work great for me would be if the outlets were on the rear of the strip and the switches were on the front, directly opposite from the outlets. Lots of ways this puppy could be made better if someone would only take the trouble to think about it and do something!

Still, I’m glad I bought two of them. They are still pretty cool and awfully handy.

WOW. I put this order in on 12/28/2022 and got it on 12/30/2022 with free shipping. I credit MEGA Retail Store, not Amazon. Amazon said January 4th through the 9th. Amazon is always slow with free shipping. I am using the power strip for my home entertainment system and it is great. The 7 individual switches light up and 6 outlets have an individual switch except for one. There is a main on/off lighted switch with a power light indicator. The switches are the main reason why I got this power strip. It seems well made. The last, always on outlet, that has a power light, is spaced farther apart from the rest that can handle a small power supply without interfering with the last switched outlet. The switched are recessed where an AC timer can be plugged in but it would cover some outlets. The outlets seem rugged. When I plugged in the components, the plugs had a tight fit. Overall, a very excellent power strip…
