Not Amazon’s fault, but at least 2 of my albums skipped. “I Want To Hold Your Hand”, the first track on Meet The Beatles and “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Thank You Girl” on The Beatles Second Album skips. Nothing wrong with my needle because I played other albums fine. I even exchanged the set for another one and same skips locations. The albums also are visually warped, even though they still play. So disappointing because I love these records.

I bought the vinyl from Amazon. On the Beatles’ Second Album, the track “You Can’t Do That” skipped right out of the box. I got a replacement, and it skipped in the same place, on the same track. I don’t have this issue on other vinyl records. My needle is fine.
I’m convinced it was a printing/production error. If you buy the vinyl, check your copy.
Having this happen for such an expensive box set is very frustrating. I’m hoping I can buy it elsewhere without the issue. Amazon did process the refund which I appreciate.

Right to the Chase here:
For those of you having ‘Skipping’ issues playing these records, it’s your Turntables setup/cartridge setup at fault here………
These Records are ‘CUT’ what they call ‘HOT’, which means they are cut LOUD.
Very Much like the legendary Led Zeppelin II Bob Ludwig ‘Hot Cut’ ithey WILL cause playback problems on Turntables that are not set up right.
Saying “my other albums play fine’ doesn’t negate that your TT setup is off kilter. Most records are NOT cut hot, they are cut at a nominal volume that will be gentle on Record Players. This Beatles Box set is not like those records.
If you are using a QUALITY Turntable Ie: not a Crosley/cheap record player from recent years, Two things,
One: Your needles ‘Tracking Force’ needs to be properly set. Most high quality cartridges like Ortofon Red, Blue, Audio Technical mostly use a tracking force of around 1.75- 2.0 grams. If your tracking LOWER than this, your cartridge is NOT tracking properly and you can actually be doing DAMAGE to the records you play daily.
Many Middle of the road Cartridges track even higher at 2.5-3 grams is not rare to find in the current TT climate.
Make sure your tracking weight is correct.
#2, Your Anti Skating has to be set properly! Don’t just go by the Anti Skate dial (if your turntable has one, if not, then your using a low grade record player), a lot of them are not calibrated properly.
The easiest way to properly set the Anti Skating is to get a 12″ disco Promo record with a lot of dead wax area after the song into the label.
Cue the needle Down into the dead wax area as the record is spinning . When the needle hits the record, If the anti skating is properly set, the tonearm should NOT move, it should stay stationary.
If it moves TOWARDS the center label, the Anti Skating needs to go HIGHER.
IF it moves BACKWARDS toward the beginning of the record, it’s set TOO HIGH and needs to be lowered.
I was amazed at the TT’s Ive had throughout the years that the Anti Skating was way off from what was printed on the dial.
I’ve got a very modest TT setup: A Technics SL-1900 with an Audio Technical AT120E $200 cartridge tracking at 1.75 grams.
No Problems with this Beatles Box set at all. They Sound FANTASTIC. It is truly Amazing after all these Decades to FINALLY hear the Original Capitol Master Tapes! And they ROCK HARD.
No-one ever thought the Capitol albums could sound THIS GOOD. But this new set DOES.
Kevin Reeves NAILED it in his mastering, as good as the 2014 UK MONO albums sound, they CANNOT Convey the Aural Excitement of these albums. Those sound cleaner and ‘Tamer’ then the US Capitol versions.
So I hope this helps somewhat, I am NOT criticizing anybody’s TT. Just using my experience over the last 50 years to bring clarity to this.
It is NOT the Records that are to blame for skipping, it is Turntable Setup that is the culprit here.

Fantastic set of records. Listened to all albums over 2 nights through headphones. I don’t think my original 1960’s vinyl sounded this good. Yes, like some of you, I had about a half dozen skips throughout the entire set. Another reviewer stated you need to have a good turntable and adjust the needle tracking and or the anti skating control but my turntable only cost about $150.00 and has neither of these controls. What I use is a compressed air gun and this blows away any residual residue leftover from the manufacturing processes. Now they all play through flawlessly.

This American Beatles Albums Box Set (rel: Nov 22nd/2024) is absolutely fantastic. Capitol records did an amazing job putting it all together – from the album covers to the records inside and the Box Set itself. Capitol packaged these 7 albums like they’re gold. And these records certainly are !!! WOW !!! I had my original U.S. albums (Stereo) stolen in a recent move….so to have them back again is a Godsend. I know the price of this BEATLES set is high. I had to max out my Credit Card…..but in time, the price will be forgotten and I’ve just purchased a lifetime treasure. I was in High School when THE BEATLES came around, and although I was useless in gym (no team wanted me), I sang and played guitar and knew all Beatles songs….so I made friends and became popular with the girls. Trouble is, Betty gave me a rough time….so I sang her a BEATLES song as she looked out of her window: “You know, if you break my heart I’ll go, but I’ll be back again.” Meanwhile, she closed her window and no, I never came back. Can’t win ’em all !!! But folks, these BEATLES albums are real good and make life worth living. Just so you know, all these records (vinyl) are in MONO and the sound is incredible. YAH YAH YAH

Nice heavy duty box and thick album covers printed directly to board ..old school paper glued to cardboard like originals would have been nice but I guess it would not be cost effective and that type of printing equipment is probably almost extinct. Most important the SOUND!! Vinyl was perfectly flat and very quiet. The music has nice volume levels not too hot not too quiet ..very dynamic.. Great sounding vocals and so much overall clarity of all the instruments..pressings like this are why I buy vinyl.. I especially loved how articulate the bass guitar sounds .. I’ve heard things I never noticed as much on previous recordings. The Beatles ’65 album however was the only one that probably needed more bass IMO.
Overall a great buy or a great gift to a Beatle Fan.

I’m not going to bore you all with a track by track analysis . I’m just going to tell Beatle collectors you will be so pleased with this beautiful box. The first Capitol Mono albums all brilliantly brought back to life.
The packaging is flawless the discs are super thick and really quiet. No pops or clicks. The albums look great too with essays by Bruce Spizer giving you a history on each album. Plus the Beatles Story Sound quality is CLEAN AND FRESH! If you’re a collector this is a must have!

Llevo 7 discos que he escuchado, en unos se salta las canciones , en otro está rellano en la última canción, eso de que se salta pues me imagino que es de la misma impresión de que otras personas a compartido que así salieron. En este caso es aconsejable solicitar reemplazo o ya quedarnos con este magnífico material, que cuando eres fan lo coleccionas e igual te gusta jejeje
