I really like this game!!! Much like the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag game, it has some great sailing. Only thing I don’t like are the privateers, they suck, just sink you waaaayyyy too fast, and then trying to go back and get your loot is a pain. The co-op is fun as long as you find or bring in some good people, makes the game an excellent way to play and enjoy! Have fun!!

I have no buyers remorse. I have Been playing video games since 1989 so I kno a horrible game when I see one and this game is not bad. Once you figure out the game it’s pretty fun to play. You will need playstation plus to play game. But who doesn’t have playstation plus in 2024. I’m giving it a 4 out 5 because I enjoy playing.

This is a live-service game. Not only does it want to hook you and put you on a seasonal battle pass hamster wheel, it wants you to keep playing as long as possible. Instead of accomplishing that by packing the game with tons of stuff to do, it instead makes every single task as slow and tedious as possible. Want to buy a new ship? Too bad, you don’t have the blueprint. Better sail across the map at a snails pace and discover it, then bring it back. Oh, now you don’t have the raw materials for the ship? Better set sail to the 4 corners of the map at the same snails pace to find those, then sail back. Now that you have everything, hope you have the silver to pay for it or else you’re going to be grinding ship battles or doing trade routes. You repeat this for every piece of equipment in the game. Combat is not really balanced for single players, and you’re likely to get ganged up on and get sunk. Then you need to try to retrieve your lost cargo, hoping not to get sunk by the same enemies that just sunk you.

This game is not good. Even at the $30-ish dollar sale price, I have significant buyers remorse. I’ve given it a good 8 hours of my time, the vast majority of that I’ve been either bored or frustrated.

This game seemed like it would be really fun when I started it, however it is not nearly as good as previous offerings. I am still waiting for a better pirate game. Until that releases I will play on this when bored, but it’s no pirate game killer. Also many in app purchases forced on you for loot.

I had a hard time picking up these games like Skyrim!!! but this one is really neat in particular naval battle is addictive and there are beasts you can hunt you can co-op with online players to get your back as well

This game has been in production for so many years that you expect something polished. At least descent. No. This is not the case. The game feels like a prototype with tons of performance issues.
    So major complaints.
    – combat – horrible. Ships are slow, they cannot move, shoot and sink that fast. Combat feels very unnatural. More like Call of Duty than naval combat.
    – controls. BAD. Just bad. Ship feels like a paper origami boat.
    – black screens to embrark/disembark. Ubisoft, are you serious?
    – on islands you cannot go anywhere, just within cordoned areas.
    – there is no offline gameplay. playstation plus is needed.

    Ubisoft you sank very low…
