Spent 60 dollars I. A Christmas gift due to illness was just able to do Christmas with my grandsons and it was horrible. It was missing the top half of the of the pile. I had a very disappointed boy. And of course I can’t return it

Got this combo for my 6 year old some and it’s a perfect rod for a young kid to learn on! Reel is smooth, rod is sturdy, haven’t had any tangles in the 1&1/2 years he’s had it, and that price for an UglyStick is a no brainer!

Great rod. I hate doing my own line so this set up is easy and fast. My second ugly stick (my first sat in standing water for a week thanks to hurricane Ian). Pulled in 4 bass this am and had a lovely experience. Not sure how it would handle if I got anything over 5 pounds but I hope to find out.

Absolutely love this rod! I bought it a year ago and I have put this thing through the ringer!
I’ve caught most of my freshwater catches on this rod including some 3 and 4lbs largemouth bass, 2lbs smallmouth, 4lbs walleye, a 20″ Muskie (caught while bass fishing, this is not an ideal rod for Muskie!), trout and some hefty crappie and perch. I did accidentally bend and crack the handle pretty good but that’s personal negligence but it’s still my go to rod!
Pros:
– Light and very very durable
– two piece for easy storage and transport
– the flex in the tip provides great sensitivity to the bite and the fight more enjoyable
– 6′ length is a great size for fishing around dense brush and creeks, streams and rivers
– reel is durable
Cons:
– The reel is junk, it’s durable but not very smooth and limited in amount of line it can hold
– On rare occasions the line gets hung up on the frame of the loop on the tip of the rod (I’m going to put some epoxy to cover the frame that should fix this issue)

The rod is perfect. Nice action and strong. I purchased three ugly sticks in the past and still have them.
But the reel is a waist of money and the line on the spool is the worst.
But I think the rod was worth the amount that I paid.

It came with line supplied and cast easily enough I did not replace the line. I have some very expensive poles but river fishing this is going to be the one pole I always take. Im allowed two in New Mexico. Just like the color.

I bought these to have for guests at my lake camp. I’ve had so many open faced reels destroyed by guests that don’t know how to use them, so I decided to get some reels suitable for all levels of fishing. I must say though….I enjoy this combo very much and use it often!
