    Zur Hardware:

    Pro:

I just got this projector so a long term review this is not. However, first impressions I can comment on. I’m using this to replace my Epson hc 2100. I just plugged in seamlessly and was immediately impressed with the brilliance and vivid color picture that it produces. 1080p does not hurt this projector. Initially the only concern I had before purchase was did it have enough lumens. Going from 2500 Ansi lumens to 1300 Ansi lumens was not going to work but LED light is a different quality of light than lamp light and my goodness this projector appears to be brighter than my Epson hc2100 in the same theater setup. Picture is so good this alone makes it an absolutely great projector add in a full feature set and the value this represents I guarantee, you are getting your money’s worth. It easily could be mistaken for a 4K picture. This is my 5th projector in 10 years I’ve had 3lcd epsons, lg dlp and optima led projectors. This viewsonic has a better picture than any of those. If it fits your theater room arrangement it’s worth a look. 4 stars on account of I just got it.

    Review is for the X1.

This is a big step up from my previous Optoma DLP projector. It’s bright (more on that later), sharp, quiet (use eco) and has amazingly good colours and contrast.

At 1080p the image is wonderful, and for me preferable to a lower quality 4K one. 4K being something I have little interest in.

Setup is easy and flexible, with a sensible zoom length (none of that useless short-throw nonsense) keystone and corner adjustments available.

Smart features look pretty average, but they’re not something I use.

There are a number of niggling annoying bugs that hopefully will be addressed with a firmware update, although Viewsonic seem incapable of telling me what the latest version should be (mine is v1.00) and if an update is being worked on. In general use these do not effect the experience though.

Brightness is staggering. Too bright for most environments and showing significant rainbow effects. Even in eco brightness was still too much, so I used a ND2 filter to tone things down to a reasonable level. This also removed rainbows. Too much brightness seems to be the curse of the modern projector. Stupid and unnecessary from the manufactures, who feel it’s needed for marketing their product.

At £300 off in the Prime Sale this thing really is a bargain.

Worth noting that I previously purchased one from Warehouse only to have to return it as faulty, with large dust blobs visible on the image. Coincidentally a new Warehouse model appeared shortly after, which makes me wonder if my return has simply been returned to stock?

I’m a newbie in the projectors field, after 2 months and 5 trials and fail projectors, I’ve finally found it. The Viewsonic X2 came out triumphed. Priced at just under $1K it got Everything I needed in a projector-Lamp Free, 30K Hrs Bulb’s life, Picture, 1M/1 Contrast Ratio, Brightness, Quietness and especially 3D movies playback and Gaming are all there. The 3D feature works fantastically just like the theater. It also handles all of my Actions RPGs and my kids’ Actions games flawlessly and OMG!! playing game with 135″ screen is just Amaz…iiing…!!! I don’t get in too much with heavy online competition games, so can’t say much there. What else can I say, Viewsonic is a US based company, I’ve known and used Viewsonic monitors for over 30 years and the projector itself comes with a 3 years warranty. Oh yeah, just found out that Amazon recently started selling Viewsonic X11-4K now, which is a native 4K projector @ $1500. I’ve already ordered one, either for my men cave or upgrade this one.

This projector excels by giving you basic features which you will actually use while skipping the ones which are desirable but not essential. So for example, it has a back lit remote control which you will constantly appreciate but no ARC. It has some very basic smart features (wi fi screen mirroring) but no dedicated media dongle. Actually I think thats a good thing as almost any device you connect to it will stream better than an included one. It also has a vertical lens shift which made it the easiest projector for me to set up so far. The picture quality is very pleasing with a long life LED lamp. Dynamic Brightness mode(s) provide the best picture but you may notice slight shifts as the picture adapts to the black levels. Internal speakers are loud and as I have the projector in a small room and I’m sitting near it, I’ve never had to increase the volume by more than 2 or 3. Sound is pefectly respectable and you’d only “miss” a sound bar if you compared the sound directly. Blutooth only works with the projector directly so any connected devices can’t take advantage of the internal BT. Its 3D blu ray compatible but the 3D picture is just a bit too dark to be satisfying, though your mileage will vary depending on the quality of the blu ray mastering itself. This projector does everything it essentially needs to do very well and I feel is actually excellent value for money. This version is the “long throw” model but I was able to get and 80 inch plus picture from not too far from my screen. Its easy to set up and produces a good quality picture. If you are looking for a excellent trade off between price and features and the mediocre 3D is not a deal breaker I would highly recommend it.

sold me on the led factor (up to 5 years of used like a tv), and didn’t have the screen door effect. was sharp and bright enough even with a 55 inch TV next to it. but the colors where off. like any viewsonic projectors, they lack the movie experience. and since movie theaters are become expensive one might want to invest in something that doesn’t make you want to keep looking for better than this.

Having tried several different cables over a period of a month or so, since it stopped talking to our laptops about a month ago, we can’t get it working any more. Pricey junk. I think it lasted about five months.

This thing is decent, I feel like it’s Ansi is like 650-1000 based on other projectors I’ve used. I like this projector because it’s colors , everything was.very vivid and colorful. I liked that it auto scaled the projection if you moved it around. I posted a day time and a night time photo
