I have researched many leveling rakes over the past month and read comparisons what to look for when buying these tools. Since these rakes are not easy to find in many stores and can be very expensive, I decide to dive in and purchase one. The leveling rake maneuvers very well gliding across the ground to distribute dirt, sod, sand, whatever is the way. I even like the horizontal bars in the middle that tend to pick up debris as it scoots. I can dump that additional debris into the bushes on my next round. I do like the width of the 30″ because it proves an evenness when distributing the payload. The 3 connecting bars to make the handle performs very well under the strain. I’ve only had to hand tighten a couple of times, but doesn’t interfere with the work. For the price, it’s a no brainer. I could not have made it for the price and I can expect to be using this 4-5 times during the course of a year when adding more topsoil to my lawn.

Easy to put together. Has a very long handle which is ideal. Reasonably heavy base. I placed loam in heaps on the grass and was able to distribute across the lawn to level out the ground. Although it will probably need a few more passes. The base is wide enough to spread across the lumps in the ground but not so large to make it difficult to use. For the price paid seems fairly robust and good value for money.

I have never used this type of tool before and I am not sure if this is normal.
At this time I am not going to recommend as I have issues using it and most times I end up using a rake to level the sand. I am currently leveling my entire back yard and a rake is much easier to use.

I bought the biggest size ….and it’s BIG! It’s also quite heavy, and a bit more cumbersome that it’s smaller siblings. It works wonderfully and because it’s big it really does take out the humps and bumps in new lawn areas as well as levels existing lawns. It isn’t hard to manoeuvre and has a really long handle to give you a good reach over newly prepared areas. This beast is built to last and it will most certainly outlast atleast one generation of a new owners family!
Now the slight but infuriating downside. The handle on the smaller models seem to be more easily detachable from the main body of the rake. With the largest model, the bottom half of the 2m handle is permanently bolted to the rake, and the upper half of the handle has to be unbolted to take it off. On the smallest model the two halves of the handle screws together and screw into the rake itself.
TIP- I have had to put hangers on the shed wall to take mine, and it works fine

My yard, once an uneven terrain capable of launching unsuspecting ankles into orbit, is now a symphony of level ground.

We both emerged victorious!
