If you are in the United States, note that this seller is overseas. As a result, you’ll end up with an AC Adapter which has the UK and European connectors, and not the American one.
Beyond that, this is an awesome investment :
* It’s usable right out of the box, although a PC user may want to change the file system to NTFS.
* It’s loaded with storage space, yet is very portable – it’s the same physical size as the other WD My Books.

I’ve had the best luck with WD drives. After trying a dozen cloud options for storing back-up data & photos, I gave up and dumped it onto this drive and stuck it in a safe deposit box at the bank. Much faster, cheaper, simpler, reliable, and accessible. Cloud storage of 10’s of thousands of files sucks!!

I was concerned that this product page did not say anything about MAC compatibility, but I purchased it anyway. I was able to get it to fire right up and immediately put it into use. My only complain is that it came with some weird foreign power supply that will not work in the US. Luckily I have plenty of other drives so I was able to use one of the power supplies from those.

Have been buyting these since 2018 for my work and to back up my files I use to make a living. Software is built in , it will back up your files for you. I have yet to have a single one fail out of my 6 connected to my computer. On these drives are over 100,000 photos, and countless videos. Everthing from the 2019 Macy’s Parade , trips all over the world , work with the White House Press Corps, video used in film and TV, also my archive 8mm footage of the World Trade Center under construction in 1970s. Every Hard drive will fail at some point, get a couple of these and set them to take care of the files that are important to you.

– I did not like the fact that the power cord did not come with a USA connector/adapter. I use this device for external storage. In order to use this device, I had to order a completely separate power cord adapter which was not easy. I needed help finding the right/compatible power cord using Amazon Chat that should not have been required. With help, I was able to find what may work but I will not know for sure until it arrives. This is a major hassle.
– Recommendation: If a purchase requires anything in addition to work, it should be stipulate so that the customer is not surprised when the purchase arrives. If I had known that I needed to purchase the power cord seperately, I would have done so or not. BOTTOM LINE: The customer needs to know if what’s being purchased is ready to go/work right out of the box. Hope this helps///Rodney

I am very disappointed. I bought this hard drive to store my work, and after just 3 weeks of use, it suddenly stopped working. I have tried it on different laptops, even with another USB cable, and nothing. I do not recommend this hard drive at all.

Disk sorunsuz ve hızlıca geldi. Benim aldığım 12TB varyantı, ve de herhangi bir sorunu yok. Hard Disk Sentinel ile smart verisine bakınca bakınca sadece 5 kere aç kapa yapılmıştı diske, o da fabrikada controller testi için zaten. Bana gelenin içindeki disk de WD120EDBZ-11B1HA0 modeli, EDBZ varyantı yani. WD Ultrastar DC HC330 ün atanamamış versiyonu diyorlar, WD red, nas kalitesinde, hatta belki de daha iyi. Güzel oldu ondan.
İçinden usb kablosu, güç adaptörü ve amerika çeviricisi çıktı.
Kolaygelsin firması da her zamanki gibi sorunsuz tertemiz ve hızlı getirdi, teşekkür ediyorum kendilerine.
