I bought this a long time ago, I’m not even sure if the new Xbox 360 S take these.

I bought this when I had my old xbox and wanted to create a new Dark Souls game pre-patch but the game refuses to let you play if it detects a save that was made with a patch (so if you save and remove the patch, you have to re-install it to play again), I wanted to use the Soul glitch so I needed a new save device. So I bought this and it worked like a charm.

If you have an old xbox model, grab it.

This does not fit the new Xbox 360. I bought it for my son’s birthday and cannot return it because too much time has passed. Trust me that will never happen again. I just donated $18.00 to the company stock. I blame the seller because they are well aware of their product. This mistake should not happen if they cared about the consumer. Update your product description. Buyer beware………………..To be honest I give it zero stars.

Needed it in a hurry because my X-box 360 didn’t come with a memory unit. Came quickly, and got the job done until I could get my hands on one. Now I use it when I want to bring saves to someone else’s system.

this works great but is SUPER overpriced. i bought this for my son that i only see every other weekend and it’s perfect for bringing just his profile so he can play on my xbox without having to bring all his stuff along. right after i bought it microsoft released info on how you can turn any flash drive into one of these, so i would recomend buying a kingston flash drive over this.

I’m surprised to see people still reviewing this. Apparently people are still buying it. Well, I’m here to tell you you don’t need this thing anymore.

When the XBOX360 first came out, ordinary USB storage devices were not compatible with the XBOX360. If you ran out of hard-drive space and needed someplace else to store your stuff (gamer profile information, save files, videos, game demos, installed games, etc.) or if you wanted to move things to another XBOX360 system (such as at your friend’s house), you had no choice but to purchase Microsoft’s own overpriced XBOX-specific memory units (such as this one!).

But in 2010, Microsoft finally relented and released a system update that allows you to save things from your XBOX360 onto any USB memory device, rendering these old XBOX360 memory units irrelevant. With so many cheap USB flash drives out there, you really don’t need this memory unit.

That said, I bought this thing in 2009 and I still make use of it today. It doesn’t provide space for storing much aside from my gamer profile and some save files, but I still use it for moving my gamer profile back in forth between my XBOX360 and my friend’s system. I could do the same thing with a simple USB flash drive, but my friend usually has things already plugged into his system’s USB ports (usually controllers being charged), so it’s nice and convenient to be able to plug this thing into its own memory port without bothering with the USB ports. In fact, that’s pretty much the only reason left that I can think of that you might want to use this: if you already have other things plugged into your USB ports and are too lazy to disconnect them.

Also, apparently the newer “slim” (black, smaller) models of the XBOX360 are not compatible with these old memory units, so keep in mind what model you have.

I bought so I could shuttle my Xbox Live account between different consoles. This ain’t a game, why am I being asked to review it like one? Why does Microsoft make me buy a proprietary memory unit when they could make it possible to use a USB thumb drive? Only one answer; GREED.

I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Core system and needed a memory unit to save my games as the Core system does not come with any memory saving hardware. I decided to purchase this memory unit because of the lower price compared to the hard drive. The unit is stated to hold 64MB worth of storage (in reality the card offers a bit less than the stated 64MB, but it is fine because this is normal).

The Xbox 360 64MB Memory Unit comes with a plastic keychain snap case, a folded instructions/warning sheet, and about a dozen glossy-white label stickers. The unit goes along well with any Xbox 360 system as the color and texture quality matches that of the Xbox 360 systems (particularly that of the original faceplates).

The unit is capable of saving a great deal of games. A massive game such as Oblivion may have a save file size of up to 1MB; using the 64MB memory unit, there will be a lot of remaining storage space for other games.

To connect to Xbox Live or Xbox Live Marketplace, any user with a 360 will need a memory unit or the detachable hard drive to setup a gamer profile. Once a gamer profile is setup, any user can connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace for downloadable content. When the Xbox 360 system is connected to Xbox Live, any updates available for the Xbox 360 system can be downloaded and applied immediately. As I recall, the system updates did not take up a lot of space (I believe they were less than 1MB).

Once connected to Xbox Live Marketplace, users can download a variety of content from movie trailers to game demos. Unfortunately due to the small amount of storage space available on the memory unit, users are limited to downloads based on file size. Xbox 360 game demos average around 700MB and HD content are often more than 100MB, making it impossible to download and view/run any type of demo or HD content with a 64MB memory unit. However, any of the non-HD, 480p content and short clips are downloadable as they require less storage space.

This memory unit is great for those who need a quick fix or require no more than bare minimal support for playing their Xbox 360 games. In the long-run I highly recommend users to skip this product and suggest the purchase of the detachable hard drive instead. The hard drive, as often cheered in the reviews, will offer a lot more function and flexibility for any Xbox 360 Core owner. For example, with a hard drive, users have the ability to play original Xbox titles, the capability of downloading larger file content such as game demos, HD movies and trailers, customizable content, and much more. So depending on which product will serve you best, you decide.

This item is advertised simply as being a memory unit for Xbox 360. A bit of caution: it is not compatible with the 4GB version of Xbox 360, as there are no fittable ports. I am sending mine back. I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews first, as I see the issue has been addressed there, but the product ad makes no mention of this, as I feel they should.
