I used this mouthpiece for a couple of years. You get a pretty good mouthpiece for the price. It is very affordable and lasts long enough. The only thing I had trouble with was playing my high notes (with palm keys) since they take me some time to come out, they still don’t sound right. I found that with a higher quality mouthpiece, my high notes came out immediately and sounded so much better. This mouthpiece is still great for a beginner or if you can’t afford a more expensive mouthpiece so I would definitely recommend.

Everyone should carry a few backup parts in their instrument case, especially those parts requiring occasional removal / installation, adjustment, or human contact during use of the instrument. All sax players carry extra reeds,โฆ.. right? Well here is a nice backup high quality and affordable mouthpiece, which you should all carry as well.

First let me say that this definitely demonstrates the quality of the yamaha brand. Now with that said:
Pros:
Great sound, better than a no-frills off brand mouthpiece of the same size.
Nice size, easy to form an embouchure with.
Feels very comfortable to play on- don’t need too much air.
Nice crisp mellow sound.
Cons:
-You get more sound out of a 5C
-Because it’s a smaller hole, it’s difficult to get more sound. You know how it’s easier to drink through a bigger straw? Well that’s what this feels like- it’s easier to blow through a bigger mouthpiece.
-Once you play a more advanced mouthpiece, you won’t want to go back. So unless you need a starter mouthpiece, I think you should go for the 5C or something more advanced.
