7 mos after purchase – the telescoping clamp that holds the neck up broke. stand no longer functioning. like the idea (straps don’t get tangled) but poor quality. will not last long. would not recommend.
PREVIOUS COMMENTS:
You lay the neck in and it grabs it. The strap never gets tangled. I’ve had no breakage issues but I never adjust it or collapse it to take it anywhere. I’m a fan. There are a much worse guitar stands out there.

I like these; I’ve got one that travels with the band equip’t and just bought another for use at home.
Well built and sturdy. Since the guitar hangs, its weight is distributed evenly – much more stable than stands where the guitar’s weight rests at the bottom front. And the headstock grabber gives an extra layer of safety.
The design has been updated to make locking the legs in place a little easier when you set it up.
It’s now a simple button rather than the old dial lock which was a little hard to turn sometimes.

I ordered an additional stand like this, after using one for a few years. I really like the way it folds up very compact, and sets up quickly, and is adjustable for various size instruments! The ‘hanging’ design also eliminates the problem with amplifier cables getting caught on the stand when you need a quick grab and play with your guitar! Highly recommended!!

I really like the functionality of this stand and the portability as well, but after about a year, the plastic of the leg locking mechanism wore out and it won’t stand any more. This might be a good stand for leaving set up long-term, but if you set up & tear down a lot, it will wear out much more quickly than a simple, traditional stand.

The entire yoke is made of cheap materials and poor construction by comparison to a similar Hercules stand. It sticks closed or open at different times. The bottom half of the stand is solid. It appears to be really well constructed in design and materials. It is really odd in that it is like the two halves were made by two different companies.
I definitely would pay the extra $10 for a Hercules stand and pass this by if I were buying another.

If your looking for a descent guitar stand that won’t break the bank the Ultimate Guitar stand Model GS-1000 is a very nice stand well made, and with help from Amazon it got to my door within three days. I really like this stand very sturdy well made great price and works great. I would suggest this stand for any guitar and believe me I spent allot on my guitar and I rely on this stand to protect my investment. The only this I wish it came with is a tote bag.

This is probably the BEST guitar stand I’ve ever seen much less bought. It’s sturdy and you can tell it’s made of top notch products and built very sturdy.
I like the fact that you don’t have to put a strap on the neck to hold it in place so it won’t fall out of it’s cradle if you accidently hit it or run into it. It works by gravity, when you place the guitar in the top cradle and lower it into place it activates two (2) arms and they basically hold it in place.
I also like the fact that if you have a nitrocellulose finish on your guitar this stand will not FADE the finish or harm your guitars finish in anyway.
You know all those $7 dollar to even $30 dollar and up guitar stands with the rubber grip on the top of them. Well they will RUIN your guitar. REPEAT they will absolutely RUIN your guitar’s finish and cause the nito to react with the chemicals that have made the rubber and your brand new $3000 dollar guitar will now be screwed up.
That is NOT the Case for this wonderful Stand. Hercules is made for the musician who is very picky about their instrument. The legs lock in place so there’s no jiggle or wiggle. It also adjusts for the perfect fit/height of your guitar. I have 3 of these. One for my Bass guitar and the other 2 for a Strat and a Les Paul and they all fit properly and hold the guitars in place gently.
All in all Hercules is a perfect name because it’s built well and strong doesn’t damage your guitar in any way and does what it should.
I would recommend this to my friends and even my Mother, LOL. Don’t purchase the smaller version of this (It’s not called Hercules) Do yourself a favor and buy THIS one. You won’t regret it and it will protect your guitar from accidents such as leaning it on a chair or sofa or againt the wall, etc. and when they come falling down and the headstock breaks, you’ll wish you would have sprung for a Hercules.
Easily 5 stars out of 5 stars

We really like this one at my church. We liked it so much, we got a second one. It is easy to assemble and figure out for the non-musician types (like me!)
