ZAGG Cover With Backlit Hinged Keyboard For iPad Mini

I was required for my school program to purchase an iPad. I already had a kindle so I reasoned if I needed to purchase another tablet that it should be easy to use it for more than just entertainment.

Pros:
– Case is adjustable like a laptop
– Keyboard has a back light [haven’t used this much but still handy!]
– Battery really lasts between charges. I have had this case since May and have charged it three times since then. I recall reading somewhere that it will last almost six months if you use it for an hour a day. But… not having to charge a keyboard daily [or weekly] is a win in my book.
– Compact yet still protective. Obviously it doesn’t have the protection of a LIfeProof, however, for minor bumps and just leaving it to fend for itself in my backpack, it is holding up well.
– Keys are responsive. I like the feel of the keyboard and it responds quickly to whatever I am typing.

Cons
– When you are viewing in the horizontal mode [like it would be if you need to type] I am unable to ‘swipe’ to pull the quick screen where you can adjust the screen brightness, turn on/off wifi, etc.. It has not been a dealbreaker but just slightly inconvenient.

One thing that might be an issue to some is how compact all the keys are. I don’t have hands of an NBA player so the size works well for me. If possible I would recommend going to a Best Buy or other electronics store where you can ‘feel it out’ in person. I ended up doing this and was quite happy I did. Would definitely buy this again, however, I hope it will last for a long time!

I adore this case. I purchased the White Zagg Folio Keyboard case. The name of the listing is confusing because it says “Cover”. The Zagg cover is the keyboard only, but the white case in this listing is a keyboard and a case for the iPad mini. It’s not just a keyboard attachment.

I have an iPad Mini 2 and I thought that it fit my iPad perfectly. I saw some reviews saying that it’s too tight but it is not. The case is not supposed to wrap around the edge of the iPad mini. It is very easy to remove and click into place.

For being a smaller keyboard, I thought it was very easy to type on. The backlit key option is beautiful. There are 7 different backlit colors that you can switch back and forth between. White > Purple > Blue > Green > Aqua > Yellow > Red. I thought the keys were easy to type on. I didn’t think the keyboard was loud. (of course it depends on how heavily you type)

I thought the white leather on the outside of the case was very luxe. The white can get dirty, but using a wet wipe or makeup removing wipe will help to keep it clean. Highly recommend!!

Only one con – they left out a spotlight key. Which stinks but is literally the only negative to say.

The keyboard paired easily, wake sleep works for both the iPad and keyboard. It’s a very quick way to travel with epthe ipad Has great virewing angles for a stand though there’s one not so sweet spot where it gets a bit too heavy but most of the 130* viewing angle works great.

Finally, zagg won me back big time with their customer support. It went from mediocre five years ago to outstandingly. They’re the only company with lifetime replacement screen protectors that actually makes it easy to get a reolacemt. They went out if their way several times in a few purchases and have win me back as a customer. Above some less expensive so,unions.

Compared to the logitech offerings

The fabricksiin has an awful layout with a super wide a and function enabled caps lock..I don’t know why they didn’t keep the same keyboard layout as the Smart Cover..their Smart Cover well once you use backlit, it’s too handy to give up.

If you have a screen protector this is a better choice than the other zagg cover, which looks a bit sexier but offers no rear lrotection and won’t work with a glass protector or many others. This is a lot more practical than their other cover. The portfolio weights within an ounce of the cover.

I’d like to see them change the finish a bit. It’s functional and dirabke but a bit bland.

I e tried basically every major keyboard and this to me is the best out there right now functionally. If you want something for Remote Desktop to a windows device or for LNG haul word processing, touch typing on this is secnd nature. There’s virtually in adjustment from a laptop keyboard.

Add a search key shortcut and make it a bit more jazzy apple acne wise it’s a five star. Functionally aside from the missing search key it’s a six star.
