I got this to try with my picky girl, an African Grey. She has never been a fan of pellets of any kind. I tried giving her the pellet type from the second bag and she systematically flung it as she always has done since she was a baby. However, this review specifically is for the seed package.
The seeds are clean, fresh and have a nice aroma albeit there are pellets included and she bypasses it which I actually am thankful for. Why do the pellets need to have red 40 and all the other fake colors?
My picky girl likes the seeds. She normally eats Brown’s Encore Premium Parrot food and loves it.

As with anything regarding parrots- they can be strangely picky about things. Seeds are always a hit, but they can be fattening and should be used as treats and in moderation. The sunflower seeds are always a hit, since they don’t get them as often as they wish. The other seeds in the mix seem to be well-liked, and the big chunks with sesame seeds and a peanut hiding inside were a big hit with several of my sizable flock… particularly the larger ones.
The fruit pellets had a less enthusiastic reception, but several of the birds would grab one and fly off with it to snack in one of their favorite perching spots- but more than half of my birds didn’t seem enthusiastic about them and just picked through before deciding not to partake. Veggies seem to be a more reliable choice, but as with all parrots- their mood may change and they’ll be more accepting of them- depends on the mood.
Overall, it’s a great way to provide a variety of stuff to keep the birds interested as they tend to like different things once in a while. The pellets I would consider for daily feeding, but the seeds for treats and snacks.
The quality is quite good, which is why I often use ZuPreem as they offer a wide variety that will keep my picky birds interested. Your success will vary, depending on your parrot- but this is a reliable, quality way to expose them to different types and styles of foods with a well-known brand.

The birds are fussy eaters, so I was not sure whether they would like the FruitBlend Mix, but they love it and she loves the fact that they love it as well. Comes in 2 packs that when priced out is in line with pricing at Walmart and Chain pet supply stores as well as online suppliers.

I have a Quaker Parrot and this food is made from bigger sized Parrots. He really does like sunflower seeds, so he was very happy to see more of them in this blend. He is a little skeptical that the pieces are bigger but did finally eat them. I usually mix at least 3 different types of food in his bowl, so it’s a pretty good deal that I can buy 2 bags at once.

This is a good quality combo pack of pellets and a seed mix for larger parrots. Because we have a mixed flock but don’t want to feed each cage a different mix, we buy in bulk and mix our own universal blend. This is a good start and we only need to add one other blend (Higgins California Blend) to get a complete mix that has something for everyone. It is a little confusing that one of the pictures lists the “no sunflower seeds” benefit of the Sensible Seeds, but the bag clearly shows sunflower seeds and the mix does contain them. Because we “water down” the blend, we end up with few enough sunflower seeds that it is OK. But you should be aware that they are in there. Overall, a good bulk deal on high quality parrot food.

I got this pack for my Congo African Grey. I like that it comes with a bag of pellets for everyday feeding (FruitBlend) and a bag of seeds and pellets (Sensible Seed) for occasional feeding. My parrot enjoys both kinds of food. I have been using the Sensible Seed bag for treats during training, and he gets excited whenever he sees me open the bag.
I do think it is worth mentioning that one of the pictures in this listing is a graphic comparing Sensible Seed to other seed blends. It says that other seed blends contain sunflower seeds and Sensible Seed does not. This is inaccurate, as Sensible Seed does include sunflower seeds. It is a little confusing too as the ingredients listed in the listing include sunflower seeds. This is not a problem for me as I don’t mind giving my bird sunflower seeds, but it may be an issue for others.

My macaws love the variety that comes in the sensible seed mix. It really has so much for them to choose from. The fruit blend they like too, although they do pick and choose their favorites. The size bags are good and you get a decent amount of food for your feathered babies.
